Re: Good Morning Ladies!!

  • thom---how were your pics????

My evening was much better than monday night. :) I actually went to bed having gotten things done, and feeling good.

Rest of the week...im not to sure whats going on. This weekend I think we are laying our brick patio out.

  • yes, I want to know how they went too! Yesterday was my first official day of work, though I will not be working in the hospital until Sunday. So, the rest of the week we are doing orientation, computer training, etc. It is rather boring, but fun to meet the people that I will be working with for the next 3 years. Last night after orientation I came home, went to the gym, chatted with a friend in LA and then soaked in the hot tub for awhile to relieve my sore, sore muscles. Then I watched Monday's episode of the Bachelorette online...lots of drama appear to be coming up on that show!
  • Yesterday I worked a short shift, 2-6, and then came home and hung out around the house. This morning I got up at 4:50am to drive my friend to the airport, but I got to come home and go back to bed, so that was nice. I have to work today and tomorrow and then I am off until Sunday. This weekend we are planning to go to Kevin's parents house. We didnt see them on Mothers Day or Fathers Day, because it worked out that they were both working, so we are going to surprise them with a cook-out. And Kevin's friend Justin, his wife Heather and their new baby Autumn will be joining us, hopefully.?

  • Good morning!  I have a really busy day at work with a grant funder coming in this afternoon.  It's imperative to my job that he leaves impressed and I am just trying to keep my nerves in check and trying to trust that the kids he will speak with will rise to the occasion!

There's not a whole lot happening this week otherwise.  This weekend should be pretty low-key.  I'm going to upgrade my cell phone on Saturday morning and am getting an iPhone so, I anticipate that most of the weekend will be spent lounging around and playing with my new toy...LOL!  I've been researching all kinds of free apps that I want to download.  Other than that, we just have DH's cousin's b-day party to attend on Saturday afternoon.  After the last two weekends being SO busy, we just want to stay mainly at home and relax.

    Lisa...how did the pics go???

  • Thanks for thinking of me ladies - I actually had a fabulous time doing my pics. I think I must have been more excited than nervous, because I felt totally good the whole shoot. I think it helped that I've seen a lot of her work so I knew how to expect the photos to look, and be posed, etc. If I get a few teasers I may post some(at my discretion of course!Smile

On a side note, downtown Minneapolis is under HORRIBLE construction. (that's where I did my pics.) It all started with my exit being completely blocked off, so I was forced into downtown on a different route. Then, for blocks at a time, I couldn't turn right or left. Every open road was a one-way going the opposite direction I wanted. I finally found a ramp within walking distance and got situated. Other than the construction, the day went perfect!

Jen- good luck with your meeting!!! Keepin' my fingers crossed that it goes REALLY well.

  • Morning ladies!!!!  last night DH and I went over to see my brothers and his wifes new arrival! She gave birth to third child (my new niece) on Saturday!!  She was born at 1:45 on Saturday afternoon, weighed 7lbs and 2 oz.  I hate that I missed all of that but alas I was working.  SHe looks EXACTLY like Klein and Lydia when they were newborns.  I got to hold her the entire time and she just slept the whole time!! I tricked DH into holding her  cause I had to use the restroom and I snagged a pic of that.  He didn't appreciate that but oh well.  He's kinda scared of new born babies, but I told him to get over it cause he won't be able to be like that when we have ours!! hehe  here's a few pics from last night:

  • Megan - Kevin is like that too, I had to beg him to hold his friends' baby, but as his friend said, its different when its your own. Silly boys hahah

  • Thanks so much Lisa!  Glad the pics went well for you. I had hoped to get mine in this summer but, I guess that will be detoured for a while now...lol!

Meg - she is so sweet!  Isn't holding a newborn one of the best things in the world?

  • Jen, absolutely holding new borns is just amazing!!  feeling on their tiny toes and fingers and how soft their skin is, I just love it!!!

Lisa, I'm glad your pics went great yesterday!!! Does your photog have a blog or website??  Does your DH know about the pics?

This my photographers buodoir only blog. Lots of good ideas here! DH absolutely does NOT know about these pics. I think the most nerve racking part of all will be giving them to him and hoping he likes them (and doesn't ask how much $$ they cost!)

Oh, her regular website is www.laviephotography.com

  • aw Meg, that is a cute picture of you with your new niece! And I have to agree with your hubby, I still think holding newborn babies is scary (although they are surprisingly difficult to hurt). I think this must be from being an only child and having no exposure to babies during my formative years ;)
