quick metro north day trip?

I have some girlfriends coming up in a few weeks and we are trying to plan something easy and not to pricey.  Annyone like any particular towns, good for shopping and lunching, along metro north?

Re: quick metro north day trip?

  • I heard that Cold Springs is good for antiques.
  • Cold Spring has a great pub/restaurant right near the train tracks that has great food and often live music outside on the weekends.  And there's a great ice cream shop just next door--perfect for having lunch, grabbing a cone and going for a window shopping stroll. And it's an easy walk to a nice waterfront plaza as well.

  • Scarsdale might be good too, a pretty big shopping area right near the train, with some good restaurants as well.-- but not the nice waterfront of Cold Spring.  But, Cold Spring doesn't have much shopping beyond the antique shops (maybe a gift shop or two)
