I agree with the light colored pants/capris/bermuda length. I bet they look really cute on. I could never pull off shoes like these because I have giant feet and am larger than the average bear.
Yikes, that was really rude. She must live under a rock if she doesn't think topsiders are still around. I love 'em! I almost bought the cutest pair of plaid Sperrys at Nordstrom last weekend, but chickened out because I'd already spent too much money that day

meh... it's an LA opinion. I'm not surprised. But honestly, speery's ARE very preppy and aren't popular all over. Even in TX they aren't everybody's style.

I think it was a different part of the country reaction - I am sure she wears some things that we would find hideous.

I love my sperry's... and I think those are soooo cute! I wear them with my jeans/khakis all the time

Well, I think I have decent taste and I wouldn't wear those, either. But I don't know why her opinion bothers you so much. If you love them, who cares.
She has a blog, but you won't find tacky on it. I know her from LA and she has fab taste and gorgeous kids.
I Agree. While those shoes aren't for me keep in mind not everyone on that board even has taste. There's always posts asking what shoes they should wear with some dress they are wearing to a wedding/christening/graduation and 9 times out of 10 the dress looks straight out of 5 7 9, something I would have worn in the early 90's to go clubbing in.
I'm not assuming that I am the ultimate judgement in good taste. Just thought her reply was catty, so was using good taste more as a double entendre.

Really? On the MM board, I think they are both generally non-snarky and usually tell it like it is with good advice. And ditto pp about her having great taste and beautiful kids. I follow her blog too. Everybody's taste is different and those shoes are really NMS either. I've lived in Texas all my life and I have no idea what Topsiders or Sperrys are and I am pretty fashionable. Don't let snarky things strangers say get to you.
I think that is absolutely the BEST response to that thread. I may steal it and post, if that's ok.
I think they reacted horribly tacky and childish. I think they are adorable but even if I didn't, then I wouldn't say so.
I would so wear them with a pair of white capri's or a cute jean skirt.
