Silly question...but need reassurance

The past two days baby has been moving around a lot less. Last week he was bumping and bouncing in there like crazy and now I am only feeling the occasional kick. That's normal right? They go through periods where they move less and move more? After our rough start, everything makes me a little paranoid!

  • As long as you are feeling some movement, you should be fine.  I never really really felt my little one till after 30 weeks...before then it was occasional, after that he went crazy.  You can always call your dr or telehealth for professional reassurance.

  • OMG I can't believe how far along you are!!!  How is everything going?

I don't know the answer to your question, but I think that as long as you are feeling some movement everything is ok.  Of course, there is no harm in calling your doc if you are worried.

  • that ids perfectly normal.  As the baby starts to run out of room they tend to not move around as much.  By the time I was 36 weeks, I would only feel DD move once a day for a second or two.  I have to agree with you that it is scary, but if you talk to your Dr, he/she can give you info on how to do the kick count method of tracking baby.
  • Totally normal. I would go through days when I didn't feel anthing all day long until I lied down to go to bed.

Just have a snack or a drink, have a rest and the baby should get excited and start moving around in there.

  • It can be normal for sure.

DD didn't move much. ever. Sometimes I had to really concentrate to get the kick count in for the day.

I had 2 non-stress tests because she scared me so much. She just wasn't a wriggler (turns out, it's because she was folded like a pretzel inside of me - her feet were locked into a position so she only moved her knees and arms!)

  • Whenever I was worried I would drink a giant glass of Juice or eat a bag of Skittles and wait a few minutes. ?She would usually kick a few times. ?I never really felt her move a lot especially once she started losing space. ?My GP told me to lie down and rest for an hour. ?Make sure she kicked 5 times in that hour. ?If not eat something sweet and try again. ?If not after two hours call my OB. ?Never had to make that phone call.??
