PCP/TTC Wednesday

I'm psyched to hear everyone's updates today... it seems like there is a lot going on with everyone right now.

For me... well, Trav and I are finally redoing the guest bedroom (future nursery)! I'm really excited to get it done, period, but especially because I think this is one of the things on Trav's mental to-do (pre-baby) list. We're going to paint the room a nice soothing light blue, then add some fun purple and chocolate brown polka dots! :-)  We're also taking out the ugly light fixture and adding a ceiling fan, and removing the ugly old carpet and refinishing the wood floors below. I'm really excited about the whole process.

Re: PCP/TTC Wednesday

  • For us we are in major declutter mode.  We have been getting rid of all the crap we don't really need and is taking up loads of room in the extra room.  There is a whole wall of bookshelves in there and they were full.  We threw a ton out and moved the books to the living room so now it is just one section of craft stuff and one section of baseball cards (don't get me started on S's sports card collection!)

The other work we are doing is with sperm.  We thought we had found one that we both really liked but now the bank is listing the donor as ART only samples.  I need to do some research and see if I can use 2 art vials for iui.  Anyone know????

  • we've actually had some movement this time around. we have the second bathroom almost entirely torn out, which was c's must-do item because of all the mold in the walls and the stress of it. we should be completely finished tonight or tomorrow and then we can start putting it all back together, which should go a lot faster than the first bathroom (we've been slacking and took a longer break than we had intended).

we have an appointment on the 31st with our family doctor to get checked out and get c's referral to the re.

lastly, i have a new blog on wordpress. i already had one on a different site, but i haven't been posting on it very often for a while now (for various reasons), and i wanted a bit of a clean slate for all this baby stuff and whatever else i feel like rambling on about. there isn't much there at this point, just a few short posts and a couple of informational pages, but it's a start.

  • I want to see pics of the polka dots when you get them done!

We are on day 6 of doing the follistim injections. So far they aren't too bad. I go for another follie check tomorrow and hopefully will have back to back IUI's early next week.

I have been spending WAAAYYY too much time looking at baby furniture on the web.

  •  Right now we are halfway done with our TWW. I'm so excited and starting to pay attention to things that are going on for example: mood swings, crying all the time, smells that bother my stomach, etc. I'm hoping its all due to a little bean growing but I'm starting to wonder if it's not the progesterone I'm on. We'll know in a week!

  • Wow, lots of house projects going on! I'm sure you're all so excited to be making tangible headway and it's so rewarding to see the finished products!

Good luck Kennedy! I hope your u/s shows lots of big, strong follies!

Good luck Jenn and Mel! Maybe you'll be able to catch a little beginner's luck. :-) Hope you have plenty of things on your calendar to keep you busy over the next week. When are you planning on testing?

As for us, we had a great beta on Monday so our next step is our first u/s on 7/21. I can't wait!

  • We're sloooooowly making progress on our PCP list.  We're making a little bit of headway on trying to move to where we want to be, and I've quit/am quitting doing something that is quite harmful to babies.  and all other living things.  Just more baby steps here!  GL to all those trying!
  • Lots going on for everyone!

Not anything new for us.  Still just looking forward to starting, getting excited, trying to wait patiently. I am distracting myself a little with pet research.... We may be expanding our family soon, but with a furry creature rather than a baby ;-)  Also, C continues her job search, which is kind of a PCP step, since it will mean more $ to go into savings, and less long hours for when the baby arrives.

mandy - congrats on the quitting, you should be super proud

So, andrea just called me a bit teary because she recieved not-so-great news at her pap. apparently she has a small cervix and very high uterus. doc told her that this will increase chances of miscarriage. I'm taking it w/ a grain of salt since he is a family doctor and not a fertility specialist, but she's pretty shaken by it. i'm off to web md to try and find out more....
