New driveway!
The shirtless men just left my house - we now have a new asphalt driveway! I haven't been outside to inspect it yet because it's too bloody hot (and it can't be walked on yet anyway) but here's hoping this stops the basement from leaking. The old one had a lovely slope TOWARD the house - because that's just what you want.

**Jealous!!** We desperately need a new driveway, but it's on the to-do list after re-siding the exterior of the house, and painting the interior....
If you don't mind sharing, about how much did it cost?? I haven't gotten quotes yet because it's still a little ways away before we can do it, but I'm interested to know ballpark how much i need to save. Do you have a single or double car driveway?

We got a new driveway last year as our house was a new build, and those things are so much weaker than I would have thought. I just noticed the other day a weed growing THROUGH the side of the driveway. Not beside, right through the ashphalt. Oh well, it was just on the edge, still looks good everywhere else!
They weren't that good looking, so I didn't spend too much time staring.
We have a ridiculous sized driveway - we can fit about 5 cars in it if we try. The paved area was ~900 sq ft and we paid 3 grand to have the whole thing dug out, new base put in and 3.5" of asphalt put down. I'm sure things vary by area, and we did some negotiating to get that price, but I hope that helps!
Wooo hoooo. Hopefully they finished just in time for the bad weather to start.
We are getting our driveway done this year too (gravel right now). I can not wait for it to be done.
Erin - we were quoted $6.50/square foot last year and got it for $5.75/square foot this year (from the same guy) for a concrete driveway (including the steps to the house and a path to the door on the side of the garage).
