woohoo! Got some funding for school!

I was so upset after I was turned down for Skills Development Canada's funding (which pays for your tuition and some living expenses, if you qualify) and we've been trying to figure out how we're going to pay for school after the year we've had (my husband has been laid off for 7 - 8 of the last 12 months).

EI granted me benefits while I'm in school, which was huge, but wasn't even going to cover my daycare expenses. But I just got word that I got 100% child care subsidy from the BC Ministry of Children and Family Development! That's on top of EI!

Things are shaping up! I really wasn't expecting to be approved for that. The guy who I talked to on the phone said that they really try to work with students, though, and he seemed surprised that I sounded surprised to be approved.

Now if I can get a few grants or bursaries, I'll be all set!
