Finally! My husband and I are all settled into our new place! He has put together all the new furniture we purchased and the cats have started to chill out and enjoy it.
I feel like I can finally breathe out now that we turned in the keys to our old hellhole!
It actually seems like an actual, married home instead of some crappy flophouse like the old place.
SO HAPPY!

Finally! A Married Bio!!
We moved from the South Slope/Greenwood Heights/Sunset Park area. I called it Park Slump. Or Park Slop. We moved to Kensington!
I actually loved my old neighborhood, but our apartment was terrible as was our landlord. It was time for a change. Especially because we had been living together for a few years, so a new apartment will make the big WE ARE MARRIED NOW change, I think.
DH and i live in Sunset Park and we love it!! We're at 31st Street btw 3rd and 4th. I mean, the nabe leaves a little something to be desired, but i *love* our apartment and our landlord! So i guess we just lucked out.
I'm actually daydreaming about buying in Kensington! But we're many years away from that!
How do you like Kensington? What's it like?

Finally! A Married Bio!!
Well, we have lived there less than a week, so I probably don't have the best handle on the neighborhood yet, but our good friend and his daughter have lived here for years, so we are somewhat familiar. That being said:
I love living on a quiet street and not being woken up in the middle of the night by trucks barreling down 4th Avenue. I love all the little produce stands. I love being able to walk and see my friends in 5 minutes. I love being close to the Flatbush co-op and all the amenities of Cortelyou. I love all the delicious (and cheap!) Ethnic food. I love being 1.5 blocks from the F, which takes me both to work, downtown, and Coney Island. I love seeing kids playing in ACTUAL YARDS. I love that I can WALK to visit my husband at his work (Brooklyn College). I love the nearby Target. I love the many buslines. I love everything about it.
Ask me in a month when the joy has worn off! : )
