Jon's new mate to be added to show
It looks like they might add one more to the hit reality show Jon & Kate Plus 8, as The New York Daily News reports today that Deanna Hummel will join the show when it returns to TLC on August 3. The 23-year-old teacher has allegedly been having an affair with the reality TV dad Jon Gosselin for several months.
"Deanna's role isn't expected to be big, but because she's part of Jon's life, she'll be filmed," says the Daily News insider.
The source added that the show will focus primarily on how Jon and Kate are raising their brood separately.
Have I mentioned how much I dislike Jon? Clearly he was having an affair, if just days after their divorce is filed he already has a girlfriend who he feels should be part of his kids' lives.
And she's 23! That just screams midlife crisis, no?

Every single parent I've known has done their best to keep their dating lives separate from their kids' lives until they are certain the person they are dating will mean something. So I'm calling bullsh!t on his claim to not care about the show or want to do it. It screams of a ratings grab. "Meet the new woman in Jon's life! Monday at 8, 7 central"
Those poor kids. I'm kind of hoping they're home schooled and sheltered so they don't have to deal with it.
Ummm...yup! I know I constantly bring my ex into all the J&K discussions...but I/we went through the same thing. I "knew" he was having an affair, but he would not admit it. Surprising that immediately after he left this other woman was suddenly around my son all the time and I was supposed to be OK with it. Had he wanted to show her on TV - to the world - with my son?!?! - forget it! Whether life was hell with Kate or not, this isn't the right way to handle things. I cannot imagine having to react or NOT react to that on national TV.
Of course...had my ex done that, I could have gotten my divorce quicker. Hmmmm...maybe there is a silver lining in that for Kate.
(Oh! And so much for doing what's right for the kids! You DO NOT bring your dates/lovers/flings around your children!)
I didn't think he was going to "have" the kids, though- wasn't his apartment a bachelor suite? They said in the show that him and Kate would switch off living in their house, and that the kids would always be at home. They shouldn't be in New York with him...

Yeah. Kind of kills the "I'd rather not do the show" unless that means "I'd like to not work but have things handed to me."

I would seriously love to cancel my subscription to TLC (but then I'd lose a few more stations that I like). I refuse to watch the channel anymore, I am more than disgusted with them. I expected better!!!!
As for Jon & Kate....I was disgusted with both of them a long time ago. I feel so bad for those kids....they have been taken advantage of from the start, and I don't see how they will not be greatly affected by what is going on!
I guess I am in the minority here. ?I do think it is wrong for Jon to have his new woman around the kids. ?It's not right. ?But I think that their plan of never having the kids leave the house for visitation is just silly. ?That means that they have to each have their own apartments so they don't bump into each other. ?I also think who the hell cares if he gets a decadent place in New York. ?I mean seriously. ?Why should she get to live in a zillion dollar home on a huge chunk of property and he have to live in a dumpy little apartment? ?No matter what the kids are going to visit him even if it's only occasionally. ?I think Jon is getting a bum rap. ?He says he didn't cheat on Kate and that the girl is just a friend. ?For all anyone knows that could be true. ?Kate is also said to have cheated how is that any less true than the allegations against Jon. ?I could say more but I don't want to open a can of worms...
You can say more. I'm not a fan of Kate's, i just hate his attitude which in public seems to be "yay! I get a new fun life!" and paired with the pictures of him hanging out at bars with other women, his new sports car, it just feels like his kids are "the old crappy life" to me.
Also, his repeated claims that he never wanted to continue with the show, is done with the show, etc are kind of less believable given his new sportscar, Trump Tower apartment (with a view of the park) and not really all that close to claim "we're going to take turns raising our kids in their home" (hours away from his "new life").
New reports says she won't really be on the show, but they will show clips of him out and about and presumably she'll happen to be there.
They are both douchebags.
Honestly who cares if he did or did not have an affair. Who cares if she did or did not screw around with her security guard. The only thing that should matter is how they are treating their kids. That isn't really getting any attention because it is not juicy enough. We have no idea what their arrangements will be for the kids but I bet TLC will make it all "show worthy" to keep the ratings up.
I saw this yesterday on AOL and was like "NO WAY."
They really DO plan on f'ing up their kids lives.
