Farrah & Ed died too..

For the past hour, all I have heard is MJ songs.  I know it's not good when anyone dies, but for heavens sakes, either quit talking about MJ or remember 2 other big name celbs died this week.  It just seems disrespectful to make MJ out to be a mytar.  They were all great in their own ways [ok, so some more-so than others, haha] but still.  Stupid DJ people...

Re: Farrah & Ed died too..

  • We were talking about this at work a few hours ago. MJ has been a little wacko-Jacko for the past 10-ish years and while it's tragic, I'm more sad about Ed & Farrah!

w/o sounding to weird, I can't believe the kind fo cancer Farrah died from! I have NEVER heard of someone having that kind of cancer, ouch! Crying

  • Exactly.  I'm so sad over Ed & Farrah.  And no, I've never heard of anal cancer before.  Colon, but thats it.  I hope they all RIP.

  •  All death is sad. And yes, there was a lot of controversy surrounding MJ for the past 10 years or so. But at the same time it was a complete shock, no one was expecting it. And even though he did have issues, he was one of the most influential musicians of all time, and was one heck of a performer.

With Ed and Farrah, it was a little different. She was battling a horrible disease, and Ed was an older gentleman, but people were expecting it to happen. Do I think it was sadder? Yes, absolutely. But I was more shocked to hear about MJ.

But that's just my two cents.

  • No, I agree with that, because of age and health.  I'm just sooo sick of hearing about it 24/7 on the radio.  Either give everyone air time or shoosh.  Or at least freaking play Billie Jean!  I'm sick of Thriller Stick out tongue

YES! This exactly. It is more of a shock factor and that the man has been a performer for what - 40 YEARS!? DJs and others are honoring him as an artist. Many news reporters AND DJs by me are still saying "something was not right" about him, but we are focusing on what he did for the music industry. He changed MTV's way of doing things. He broke the barrier and paved the way for all the Brittanys, Justins, Boys II Men, etc.

You could turn off the radio! Just a suggestion!Wink

MJ was incredibly influential in the evolution of pop music to what it is today.  Hence why everyone is playing so many tributes to him.  I have enjoyed all of them because they remind of my childhood and it is really nice to see him in the height of his career.  I'm sorry to say that Ed and Farrah were not as influential people to the world at large.  No less sad, but much less far reaching impact.
