DH's birthday is the 4th of July and I am looking to make some plans for us. He doesn't like to do the big festivals and what not because he has always done those growing up for his birthday. Do you know of any cool spots that we could take a day trip to, lakes, rivers, etc.? We live in Carrollton but would be willing to drive an hour or two. We would love to be able to take the dogs with us too. Are there any lakes outside of town where you can actually swim? Or any other cool spots we should check out? We have only lived here a couple years and haven't toured around much.
Thanks in advance!
Re: Ideas for DH's birthday
what about that lake north of Denton?? Lake Ray Roberts I think? We used to go up there when we were in school - it was always nice and quiet, but with the fourth of July it may be busy
But I haven't been up there in years so I don't know what it is like anymore
Thanks ladies. I will have to look into that idea.
You can look into renting a boat. I just made a reservation to rent a boat on Lake Grapevine from Just For Fun.
Or if you want to go alittle farther, you can stay here and float the Guadalupe river outside of Austin. I'm not sure if they let you bring dogs, but it's worth calling and asking.
