Unemployed Newlywed - Help?

This is my first time posting on this board, just got married last week and have been out of work for the past few months.  Now that the wedding is behind me, I'm ready to put all my effort into finding a job - finally!!

Most of my past positions have been in administration, I've been applying to everything available but haven't even gotten a lot interviews.  I'm starting to get desperate, I neeeed to go back to work ASAP but even grocery stores in my area aren't hiring!  If anyone has any advice for me; companys to try applying to, changes to make resume-wise or other, I'm totally open to suggestions!  TIA!

Re: Unemployed Newlywed - Help?

  • Check out the local universities/colleges too. Mac, Mohawk, Conestoga, Laurier Brantford. They may have some jobs that would work for you.
  • I have experience in employment counselling and vocational services. You can email me your resume if you like. Send me a private message if you want to and I'll send you my email.
  • I don't have any job suggestions above what the other ladies have said, but wanted to say welcome and congrats on your wedding. I hope you find something soon! And of course stick around and post often Smile
  • congrats & welcome! I'm Andrea in Toronto.. I can't really help with your job search but good luck!!!
  • I officially love this board!  I was a little unsure when I moved over to TN but so far this board is super welcoming & helpful so thanks ladies for making the transition smooooooth!
  • Welcome to the board!

I live in Hamilton, but can't think of any places that are hiring right now. My suggestion would be to have your resume looked over by a professional. My DH found this very helpful when he was job searching.

    Good luck!
