Help from new moms (or any moms)
My friend just had a her first baby and her shower is on Sunday. I already have a gift for them but I was wondering about maybe some neat little thing that would be really helpful to her that maybe no one but a new mom would think of. Any ideas?
Re: Help from new moms (or any moms)
I'm not a mom but I was wrangled in by your Hypno-Toad.....
I've seen these cute rubber ducky thermometers that test the bathwater...I don't know if real moms use them but it made sense to me! I think the base turns red if the water is too hot and stays normal if the water is good for baby....pretty sure they sell them at Wal-Mart. HTH!
I just gave my co-worker one of these and she loved it.
I second this!
If she is breastfeeding then the "Milk Bands" braclets are the best. My friends SIL invented them a few years ago. I used them when I was nursing DS and found them to be so helpful. Here is the link to the website that you can order from :

I also believe that some of the specialty baby stores in Canada are now carrying them too.
They have these new baby thermometers that you just have to rub across the baby's forehead and it instantly gives a reading. I want one! Our current one you have to hold under the armpit for a good minute, it's such a PITA when you're dealing with a squirmy baby.
Other than that- a gift certificate to a maid service? Or to restaurants that do take out / delivery? A massage?
