Re: Discount Travel websites
What do you want to do while here? I would recommend staying in the River North area. There are some great hotels on Michigan Ave and some even better ones a couple blocks off Michigan. It really just depends on what you are looking for.
I always find good deals on hotels.com.
We are going to go to the Shedd, sears tower, zoo maybe, navy pier, maybe a baseball game, boat ride. I was looking into that Chicago Go card. It looks pretty reasonable and has a lot of places you can use it. It's going to be a very quick trip and we won't be in the hotel at all probably.

Holy crap that's a long link...but that's the one I've been looking at and/or The Whitehall Hotel. Parking is ridiculous though! It's $45/day at the one!
We've used hotwire.com about a dozen times when we go to Milwaukee. We've never used it for Chicago, but an ex-friend of mine used it EVERY time she and HH went to Chicago and always got great deals at great hotels using it.
Of course, it's not for everyone - you don't know the name of the hotel when you book and you have to pay when you book it. Parking or in-room services etc., are never included (unless the hotel has free parking, period, which I highly doubt in Chicago. LOL)
That's probably if you valet. There may literally be a parking garage around the corner or down the street that will be less...maybe $30/day. So, definitely look for that when you drive up.
I recommend doing mostly all of what you said. The Shedd Aquarium is a great place to see, a Cubs game would be so much fun (get bleacher seats if you can), LP Zoo is free and fun...Navy Pier isn't all that great, but it's cool to go on the huge ferris wheel at least once. A boat ride would be fun too, you can buy tickets at Navy Pier once you get there.
Unfortunately I don't think the cubs are in town
so if we go it will be to a white sox game. Not that it's bad because I am a Braves fan, but I've been to a white sox game before and would love to go to Wrigley just for the experience.
Thanks for the tips. I hope we get to go. DH just got a bunch of jobs to do and they are coming up soon so it may interfere with work and that will suck tremendously but what can ya do.
Great suggestion, we actually did a tour of Wrigely a couple of weeks ago and had a great time.
