Other Boards...

So, I've been lurking on some of the other Nest boards. Is it just me, or are they a bit weird? Like the TTC board. Um, I don't really want to know about other women's bodily fluids and ovulation cycles. I am presently TTC, but that's TMI! Lol! Don't get me wrong, the girls seem nice, the board may be helpful and I don't mean to offend anyone. But its JMHO.

Anyone else have similar experiences?

My local girls seem really nice, but it's hard to "break into" the group. It was easy with the May 09 board - you could watch the threads for a couple hours, maybe even a day, and get a decent vibe about the board. Since my local never posts.... well, it's harder. I can't find one of the national boards that I really like, either.

Oh well.

My local is pretty easy to break into, they all seem like a really nice group of ladies. Every now and then I'll post on the Parenting Board, but it's faster paced and not as easy to get into. They're great at answering questions quickly, though!

My local is pretty dead too, but I still post on my local Knot board. I really like those girls.

I lurked on the Money Matters, but it seems there were more NMR and MR posts. Seems like it's more of a group of friends talking about everyday life.

I am just starting to lurk on the other boards like the GP board but haven't posted anything yet. I'm really glad we have this May 09 board on the nest now to get used to the format but I think I will be changing my SN before going onto other boards. I would think all that stuff they post on the GP board was gross if I didn't want to learn about it all but its been pretty helpful to me. I'm really worried its going to take a while since I have a friend who has been trying for a couple years with no luck so I want to jump in feet first from the beginning!

The Idaho board is pretty dead. I like the Pets board and post on there a fair amount. I lurk on BNOTB and Sex & Romance the most. The TTC boards are interesting, but yeah, sometimes it's a bit odd. They are die-hard TTC'ers

I love the What's Cooking board and my local board. I usually spend most of my day on WC but that's b/c I'm a foodie and have been there for quite a while.

My local board is pretty dead, which surprises me for Chicago.

I've been posting on Married Life & Money Matters. Didn't introduce myself (that's where I've seen the girls go at it) but just commented on a few things. Both boards seem to be a bunch of nesties that have known each other for awhile. ML is funny as hell sometimes!

I'm lurking on Buying a Home now since we are trying to sell, hoping to get some ideas to get a damn buyer in this market!

I post on Pets, D&R, Nest Book Club, and Money Matters randomly. Usually not every day, but I'll read one forum one day and another the next or whatever. I love my local on here, but they're the same girls from the knot local.

I've posted once or twice to get advice about post-wedding stuff on my local board (stuff like dress preservation places and stuff like that) but they weren't too helpful. A lot of them have kids and talk about them all the time which is fine for them but we don't have kids yet so I'm a bit lost there. I checked out the Gardening and Landscaping board a little and that was interesting. I haven't checked TTC but I've seen a few Nesters with their ovulation cycles in their signatures. I agree with PP. A little TMI IMO.

I know I'm late, but ditto, Ditto, DITTO! I'm also TTC, but that feels like TMI to share with random strangers on the internet. The girls on here that I've gotten close with and chat via messenger or text or whatever I feel more open to sharing stuff like that with (but I have NEVER discussed things like CM with ANYONE other than my husband and even then it was a biological discussion of how things work because we both find medical stuff fascinating)...but really...just general posting? No one needs to know.
