out of towner suggestions

My little brother (26) is visiting for a few days and I'm drawing a blank on anything fun to do. He's been out a few times before, but always with other family, a friend or gf. This is the first visit on his own so I'm feeling a bit more obligated to at least have ideas of what to do. Amusement parks are definitely out. We will definitely do some beach time, but probably not the whole 5 days he is here...Any ideas on things to do/places to go??

TIA!

Re: out of towner suggestions

  • take him up to LA - santa monica, venice, malibu, hollywood blvd.

    uh, that's all I got.

  • is he into wine tasting? Just did wine tasting in Temecula and it was quite fun. only drawback is that it's prob hot as hell out there right now.

  • Will the OC Fair be open yet?

Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach......then after you can walk around downtown. There's tons to do there.

  • kayaking, golfing, take him on a hike, artwalk (when applicable), day trip to Catalina, fishing, LACMA or MOCA, duffy boat rental & cocktails....

Yes it is. Although Pechanga is also out there and they have AC. Yes

If you end up in LA there's LACMA, Griffith Observatory, Getty, Getty Villa, Annenberg Beach House, hiking in Malibu, and Bergamot Station

Not much in the form of organized activities. He drinks with his friends and that's about it.  I think the most fun he had on a visit here is when V took him and the friend he was with to go "play with cougars" at the Foxfire Embarrassed

I am dying! Foxfire? Yikes! Although, thanks to Foxfire's massive donation, Anaheim Hills will be able to afford the firework show this year. ;) yay Foxfire!

If bar hopping is his thing, take him to Newport so he can do the bar crawl, hit the fairy to Balboa?

  • <3foxfire!

I second LL's suggestion. Take him to Newport on bikes... he can stop at various places for a drink.
