New

I've posted on here a couple of times but I've never actually introduced myself.  So here goes..  I got married back in April and we are currently looking for a house in the NW part of Frisco.  So I'm sure I will be posting lots of house questions on here very soon!  That's all I can think of for now  Smile

Re: New

  • Congrats & welcome!
  • Welcome!  Happy house-hunting!
  • Congrats on the wedding - have fun house hunting!
  • Welcome!

My friend has a house for sale in NW Frisco - I haven't talked with her, but I think it is still on the market.

5 br, 4 or 5 bath, 22" ceiling in FR, formals, media room, neighborhood pool

Drive by - 3137 White Spruce Drive.

(PS - this is not my house and I am not a realtor  :)    I live 50 miles away.

  • Clea - That house is actually on our list!  Talk about a small world.  We were wanting a house with 3 car garage that wasn't outrageously priced and that was one that we were interested in!

  • whoa - talk about 6 degrees of separation!

It's really beautiful and appears to be a great neighborhood.

I know they are ready to sell, so you never know.

Do you have a specific move-in date in mind?

  • We're not in a really big hurry, but we would like to close by December 1st so that we can get the $8000 tax credit.  I like that area but my husband wants to be a little further north, like around Eldorado and Legacy.  He works in Denton so I can't really blame him for wanting to be as far north as possible.

  • Welcome and Amazing Nintendo cake!!
  • Hi & welcome! I live really close to that general area! Good luck with your hunting. :)
  • Welcome! Good luck with house hunting!
  • ?Welcome! ?Love the cake! ?

    ?

If your DH is working in Denton, have you looked at the FW side of town? ?You get even more bang for your buck with houses in FW compared to Dallas. ?We live in N. Fort Worth/Keller area and I go to school in Denton (about a 40 minute, no traffic drive up I-35) and DH works in Irving off of 114 and it's also about a 30-40 minute commute for him. Plus, I think Fort Worth is friendlier and has a better downtown area than Dallas. ?That's just my opinion, though. ?I have lived on both sides of town and enjoy Fort Worth way more.

  • Tulips - I work in north Plano, and he really wanted to stay as close to my job as possible.  He doesn't mind the drive to Denton from here (it only takes him about 35 minutes) and we both wanted to be close to our families as well.  My mom and step-dad are about 40 minutes north of Frisco and his parents are in Frisco as well.  Plus we really like the schools.  But yes, house prices are quite a bit more in this area than other cities, but it's something we were both willing to sacrifice.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!
