Santa Barbara Recs?

Hi Ladies!

Our 4 year anniversary is coming up at the end of the month (time flies) and I want to plan a getaway to Santa Barbara. I want a nice hotel that has a nice pool and is walking distance to State Street and the beach.

Any recs for hotels and restaurants? I've been there ONCE and we stayed at a cheapy hotel because we were there for an Incubus concert.

I would love to spoil Dh and get him a massage too so a hotel with a spa is a bonus. It will just be a 2-3 day stay.

TIA!!

  • The Canary Hotel is on travelzoo right now for $299 a night. Might be worth a looksie.

Not quite SB, but the Ojai Valley Inn is a fantastic property.

Other than places in IV that I love to go back and eat at (Bagel Cafe, Cantina - yummy college town food!) We had a really amazing brunch at the Tupelo Junction Cafe on State the last time I was up there in April. The Dungeoness Crab Cake & Potato Hash is like, amazing. drool. The Biltmore also has a really amazing brunch.

  • IL's swear by the Franciscan Inn, although I have never been.

    Cafe Zaytoon is fabulous.

After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!

  • Dude...if you can afford Bacara, you need to stay there. It's amazing. MH was in his friend's wedding there and we hung out in their room, roamed the grounds, etc for a few days. Amazing property.

  • The Harbor View Inn.

Small nice hotel, across the street from the beach. about 2 blocks from State Street. Nice pool area, really nice rooms, and fab balconies.

Reasonable price for what you get.

  • It is walking distance to everything...or at least a cheap cab ride away, if your lazy...My parents used to stay there all the time when they would come up to visit me, and have gone back even since I have moved.

I will say though, it is across the street from the beach at State Street, which is where 1 of the piers is...it is touristy and they have the street fair on the weekends...which is fine to walk around, but I wouldnt so much lay on the beach there.

I would go further north or south, for that.

  • Oh hell no. I will not be laying out.......I am too much of a beached whale for that.  I just want to be able to bring our bikes and cruise around. :)

    Super excited.
