1. No - we don't get Friday off. I think I work for the only company in my city that will be open as ALL of my friends and family all have it off.
2. Going to DH's parents during the day for a parade in their neighborhood that our niece and nephew will be in, then going to his cousin's that night for a patriotic party (who can come dressed with the best patriotic outfits), fireworks and grilling out.
1. I'm currently unemployed, but DH is not off on Friday. But my mom is, so we're going shopping.
2. DH and I are going to two cookouts, back to back. Should be fun!
1. Right now I'm not working because I start teaching in August. DH does have Friday off though.
2. We are either going to a cook out with some friends or else we're going to go to a big fireworks show -- We haven't decided yet.
1. Yes - my company is closed. No, because I offered to work at my part-time job. What was I thinking?!?!?!
2. I'm hangin' by the pool during the day Saturday, then DH and I are going to my sister's for a cook-out.
1. Yes, I am off. The University closes for the holiday.
2. I think going to a cook out at MOH's. It will be the first time in years that I have not been on the water.

2. We're headed up to DH's mom's lake house tomorrow night and will spend 2 nights with her. DH's cousin is throwing a big party Friday night, then Saturday we'll come home and we have a cookout/birthday party to go to Saturday afternoon/night.
1. Yes, I'm off, but I'll be at work any way because my parents are coming to town and want to see Mount Vernon. At least I don't have to do any work!
2. My parents are coming to town - we'll likely picnic and see local fireworks. We're not getting involved in the DC craziness.
Yes, I'm off Friday and getting the post-wedding chop!
For the 4th, I'm going to my cousin's wedding and meeting up with my sister and her boyfriend for a double date dinner afterwards!

1. I'm a teacher so I'm off until August, but DH is off Friday so I'm happy about that!
2. Not sure what we're doing yet. DH's cousin invited us to a cookout and to watch fireworks so we might go there but they're about 45 minutes away...wherever we go I definitely want to see fireworks, I love them!
1. Are you off on Friday because of the Holiday? Yep, I'm meeting someone to sale some wedding stuff to and returning some shoes. I really want to go to the gym too. Then working on tiling our fireplace. Grilling out dinner and heading downtown for Red, White, and Boom!
2. What are you doing for the 4th? Having friends over for lunch and heading to a local church which gives away free food every year while we watch the Hilliard fireworks.

Our friends are all going out of town.

2. Going to Milwaukee to see my family on Friday afternoon then driving back to Chicago Saturday afternoon to see DH's family. All that driving with a dog sucks!
1) No! We're trying to convince the bosses that we should take it off. So far no luck!
2) Not sure yet. I'm guessing BBQ at my parents'. Not sure if Brett will make it to the fireworks or not, he has to be up Sunday at 5am for work.

Yes, the federal government was nice enough to be closed on Friday. H's firm usually follows the government's schedule, so they'll be closed too.
No particular plans yet. We also learned a long time ago not to mingle with the hordes of tourists that descend upon DC for the 4th. If we do watch the fireworks, it'll be from somewhere far from the Mall. Otherwise, I intend to lounge by/in our pool and catch up on magazines.

Yes we are both off on Friday! I love long weekend especially when they're holidays!! So to celebrate we're going to Kennywood (amusement park) with FIL and MIL! Then we'll probably treat it like a Saturday night and go out!
Saturday we have his family picinic during the day and I am hoping we can go to the club with my family for my nephews first time seeing fireworks! DH isn't too thrilled about it though so we shall see!

1. Since I'm a teacher, I don't go back to work until August. DH is off on Friday. We'll be spending the day cleaning out his late parents home.
2. We're having a get together at our house with friends. I'm preparing the appetizers, sides, and desserts. DH is BBQing. It'll be our first party at our house as a married couple.
My bar review class isn't meeting on Friday and DH's office is closed! Since Chicago does it's big 4th celebration on the 3rd, we're going out to the park all day to get a good spot for fireworks.
Saturday we're heading to the lakefront all day with our little grill, my sister, and some friends. Can't wait to drink, eat, and relax!

Neither of us have Friday off. Dennis doesn't get holidays or vacation time (he works at American Express and their primary cost cutting measure has been to eliminate direct hires where possible. His entire department is long-term temps...but they pay him really well, so it evens out until he finds another job), I don't get holidays because my job is staffed 24/7...but I do get paid double time when I work on them.
2- We're having a celebration with fireworks on Friday for Canada Day (it was yesterday) and then another on Saturday for the 4th. Not sure exactly what either of those will entail, except that there will be fire and explosions for both.

2. I'm trying to talk MH into going to the fireworks on the mall. But other than that I'm sure it will include some grilling, eating, and drinking!
