Who was throwing the display shower?

My girls and the mom's are trying to find a cute way to state that it's a display shower in the invite for my shower.  I know I'm not suppose to be doing anything for it but I figured I'd ask on here to see if you have any ideas.

Thanks

Re: Who was throwing the display shower?

  • I have three poems. Leave me your email, and I'll send it over...
  • Oh and can you give me the details of how your doing it.....like are you still doing games and which ones? and what not.  The girls are asking me what I want and I'm not sure b/c I've never been to a display shower.
  • butting in, we did this for my gf and it was not very sucessful. well she didnt want to open gifts, and didn't, so that was good....but the women were totally NOT into games and the two sides of the family just pow wowed on either sides of the room. so def have some games or something to get people involved. HTH!

I think Display/ Presentation showers are nice, especially if you're not a big "in the spotlight" kind of person. Just my 2 cents. :)

  • Thanks!  I'm definetly not someone who likes being stared at :)  There are 80 people being invited...(big families+mom and FMIL's friends=big shower) so a display shower made more sense.  My sister in laws shower was big and we spent the whole time doing gifts and people left in the middle of it.  Atleast this way I feel I can talk to my guests.

We definetly want to do games but they are trying to think of ones that don't involve the opening of presents.  I think they found a "price is right game" and then there are the ones where people get into groups and dress someone like a bride using toilet paper...To corny?  Any suggestions on games for a display shower?

I'm trying to give me sister some ideas b/c my mom and future mother in law will drive her nuts...and since this is new to all of us we are a little lost!!

  • They played a game at my baby shower where someone read this story and every time she said "left" or "right" you had to pass the prize that way. At the end, whoever had it won the prize.

This story was about "Mr. & Mrs. Right" going to the hospital for the baby. So maybe you can find a similar one that is wedding related.

  • Toni: Thanks!!  I'm gonna keep that one in mind for my sisters baby shower too!!
