When to celebrate?

I just realized I don't have a one month anniversary, officially anyways. We were going to celebrate today, but DH is out of town. Maybe tomorrow!

Re: When to celebrate?

  • We didn't celebrate our one month... Is that odd?
  • We didn't celebrate it either.  Sean said he thinks it's kinda hokey and we can wait til 6 months and then after that do each year.

He did tell me Happy 1 month though.

We celebrated our one month just because I wanted to make a cake. I don't think either option is "odd."

  • Other than saying "oh, happy one month" we will not be celebrating until we get to one year. It just reeks of high school to me when months are counting. I'm not saying that is the only way to look at it, but that is how I look at it.
  • If by celebrate you mean use it as an excuse to have a nice dinner, then yes we did!  It's kind of like looking for a reason to go have a drink.Beer  If I find one then I take advantage of it!Stick out tongue
  • Our 1 month was yesterday and we didn't really celebrate.  We told each other "happy 1 month" and I baked us a cake for dessert.  I figure our 1 year will be the first anniversary we really celebrate.
  • Well, I baked lasagne (which I never do) and splurged on some fresh parmesan for it.  It's DH's favorite meal.  We then rented and watched a movie.  Otherwise, nothing special.  We even both went to our own gyms to work out.  Now that was a special 1 month!

This, except we went out to lunch instead of dinner.

  • We just said "woohoo it's a month" and we go out all the time, so no biggie.  We can't wait till our HM in Sept, that's when the celebrating will really happen.

  • Our 14 year old nephew was staying with us on our 1 month, so we just said "happy 1 month" and left it at that!  I went to my book club that night, and DH made beanie weenies for dinner!
  • We barely ever even celebrated our dating anniversaries for 6 years...  lol.  We're gonna do something cute/fun for our 2-month, though, because it's Piper's one-year birthday, too.  Stick out tongue
  • We didn't celebrate our one month.  We are going to celebrate both our wedding and our vow blessing anniversaries, so we're already getting two a year. :)
