f/u drunk receptionist....crap!
You may remember a few weeks ago, maybe a month ago.
Well today she came to work again smelling like alcohol. I mean reeking. I smelled her today so I was able to say something to our ofc mgr about it.
Well they suspended her until Friday. - Friday she has to come back and talk w/ our Dr-
i say CRAP! because I am afraid she is going to get fired- I wouldnt care except that I have a vacation planned from July 11- July 18 and if she gets fired I can't go!
So I have conflicting feelings. It's my own fault because I said something but at the same time you can't come to work like that!
I am going to be VERY upset if I can't go. I could cry right now just thinking about!

Jena, I am SO sorry. What a mess. I think I would have said something too, but your vacation complicates things further. Maybe if they do fire her, they could keep her on until you're back?? That's sounds a little hopeful, but you shouldn't be punished into no vacay because of her behavior.

let me rephrase: I do care if she gets fired. I don't want her to get fired. She needs a wake-up call. She obviously has some issues. They go further then her drinking problem. The economy is horrible and I know she also has some financial problems, so i'd hate for her to get fired. but it is completely unacceptable to come to work reeking of alcohol.
I think she needs help.
