Weekend Getaway

My dh and I are wanting a somewhat local weekend getaway.  We have lived here for about 3 years and have never done anything locally and just want a little overnight trip....any ideas?

  • How about Jefferson, Texas?

I have been wanting to go here - go check it out and let me know how it is!

  • I highly recommend the Inn on Lake Granbury. It's closeby but a great little getaway. The rooms are awesome and the staff is just wonderful! There are lots of cute shops down in the square to occupy you during the day too.

Love Jefferson! ?Definitely a great local trip destination. House of the Seasons is a must-see tour. ?Tons of antique shops and B&Bs to visit. ?Make sure you drive down old US Hwy 80 so you can hit all the small towns on the way--so much prettier and more fun than the interstate. ?I went several years ago (actually, 10 now that I think about it) and so I'm sure it's changed some. ?I've been meaning to go back. ?It's really lovely and quaint there.
