Re: Tattoos...

  • I don't have any but DH has a sun with a celtic knot in the middle of it between his shoulder blades. I don't have a picture of it though.
  • Let's try again.  TN ate my post!

    image
This is my first.  It's on my right wrist and says "consequence" in Chinese.  And that's really what it says, haha.  My brother has friends are from China & they double checked.

    image
This is my 2nd and my "regret" tattoo.  I like it and all, but wish I wouldn't of gotten it.  I want to add more stars someday, maybe that'll make it all better.  I can hope =/  It's on my left arm.

    image
This is my koi.  I got him last August on my right foot.  My aunt was "fish sitting" while I was on vacation and my gold fish died.  She flushed him and told me 3 days later.  I was devastated.  He was the coolest fish in the world.  He was acutally Brett's, but I liked him more ;P  And this one, by FAR, hurt the worst!

    image
I got this the day before my Grandpa's funeral, he died on Halloween in '08.  We scoured the house and after 4 hours we found something he'd signed and I scanned it and Brett designed it for me.  It was the least painful one.  I didn't feel a thing.

  • Emmy, you're new to the May 09 crowd.  You should probably know that there's no need to force conversation by starting every other thread on this board.  People will discuss what they want to discuss, without needing to be prompted.  You'll see - this isn't a shy group of women.  We don't need a ringleader.

  • Thanks?  I'm fine on other boards, so sorry for being overbearing?  I wasn't trying to be a ringleader or anything..  Just make conversation since I never really posted on the Knot.  Sorry =/

  • Haha, don't worry about it Emmy. If someone doesn't want to read your posts, they really don't have to :)

I don't have any tattoos, but I love looking at really well done ones. I am part of a few different rings on LJ (I used to write in it in college, but literally it has just turned into my tattoo picture place.) I personally love the modernized/classic/girly tats. Sugar skulls are my latest love.

I have to admit though, I'd never get one. But I think it is a beautiful art form - you really need to get it right the first time (hopefully.)

  •  Neither of us have any.

Sean wants a Punisher tattoo (comic book kid and I should be happy he doesn't want spiderman).  I said okay-I just want to see it before.  He is drawing it, so it should rock.

Sean wants his second tattoo to include me, so he wants it to have a dolphin involved (I have always loved them).  Also, thinking about incorporating something celtic because he is Irish and our wedding date.  I am going to get the same tattoo, but smaller and in a different place.

Devin has a Spiderman tat on the back of his left leg, lol!!! He has nine all together, and wants one more.

I have two , a celtic "sisterhood" knot on my left hip, and another "mother's love" knot on my lower back. I don't have pics, though.  I want two more and then I'm done.

  • I only have one right now, and I don't have any pictures of it.  It's not one that many people see since it's on my hip, under my bikini line.  Bathing suits don't even show it...It's a celtic style drawing of a 4 leaf clover.  My next one (if I get the guts to do it) will be a celtic knot toe ring on my left foot 2nd toe.  I don't know if I'll ever do it, though, just because I'd have to wear closed toed shoes at work, or a band-aid over my toe for the rest of my career.

I didn't mean that to be defensive!  I just thought of the first comic book character to come in my head.

  • I got mine Labor Day weekend in 2006. I found the design on the internet when I was in 7th grade, printed it and placed it in a drawer. I decided if I still loved it years later I would then get it as I feel it describes me perfectly. Exterior people see a dainty female, but hidden inside is a fierceness. image

The only alterations I did to it was the artist made the color of the eyes my color and the antena is green for the contrast. The orange has since faded a bit (this photo was shortly after it was done) and I plan to add onto it with a tribal design but with jungle vines and exotic florals.

No worries!!! I laughed a bit when he told me what he was getting. However, I liked it better than " The Major" from " Ghost in the Shell".

  • Jax, that's beautiful!  :)

Brett wants a spidey tattoo on his arm above his wrist like the web shooters, haha.  Must be a guy thing, but I'm glad it's not just my guy Big Smile

  • Thank you. I had to get it on the small of the back to when I finally get myself to law school, graduate, and be admitted into the bar I wont have anything visible to the Court. Something tells me the Judge wouldn't appreciate a design on my ankle ;)

  • Yeah, probably not.  Silly Judges :)  I like my foot and ankle ones more because I can cover them a lot easier than the others.

  • I had several law school classmates with tattoos.  Just saying.  They do sell tattoo cover-up that works well, from what I'm told.

  • I am getting one lasered off, and won't get anymore.

Deb is right, they do make cover up. The only bad thing is it wears off if you sweat (they say they are water resistant or water proof, but they lie), or if clothing rubs on it (the same way cakey make up rubs off on collars). Plus, it would annoy me having to cover it up everyday, but that might be more because mine is in the middle of my shoulder blades, which isn't exactly easily accessible. I think covering one up on your ankle wouldn't be so bad.

  • I'm late, but I dug up a picture of my tattoo so I thought I would share:

    image

It's a pretty grainy picture, I took it with my camera phone about 5 years ago when I got it.  Treble clef with angel wings (white highlighted with a really pretty lavender like color) and a yellow halo.  Got it as a tribute to my passion (music/singing) and also in memory of my grandpa who passed away that year, he always told me I had the "voice of an angel".

  • That's pretty, Kristin!
