Why aren't you pregnant yet?

This is the question I get from MIL last night when she called at 9:00pm. WTF?

I give her 3 valid reasons 1) it's only 2 months since we got married 2) we are in a 1 bedroom condo and there's no room for baby stuff let alone a baby! 3) DH lost his job 2 weeks ago & our baby savings account looks like a 17 year olds.

Her response: There's never a good time to have a baby so you should just start trying now. God will watch out for you.

OMG, I love this women but I think she fell off her rocker!

MIL has been asking DH and I when we're going to have kids for years (uh, sometime after we get married Hmm

). Just tell her y'all will have a kid when you both are ready! She's probably just excited to know that she's one step closer to grandkids!

You know I'm waiting for the exact same question from MIL since so many people in their family got pregnant the month after they got married. Sorry MIL no baby here yet.

Luckily my MIL is on our side with waiting. My FIL on the otherhand would love us to have one right now.

When we got a puppy and took it over. Sean's dad walked in the door and I said "Hey grandpa get in here we have some big news" He lit up ear to ear thinking we were preggo. We had only been engaged like 2 months, so I was like "heck no crazy man!"

My MIL has been begging us to TTC since we started dating 4 years ago. My dad even called her out on it in his toast at the wedding (jokingly). We're waiting several years and it's driving her crazy. I hear comments about it constantly. She even bought us wedding monitors as an Easter present... how weird is that?

God better wait until my car is paid off, DH said so [Nov '10]. hee hee hee. I do want a baby, but we just bought a house and want to enjoy married life first. Our cat is a handful as it is. Brett's co-worker asked [2 months before the wedding mind you] if we are going to start trying wedding night or if we had. He told her "We aren't gonna start trying, but we aren't gonna be as careful." I'm like, hellooo... I'm not going off my pill anytime soon. It kinda creeped me out his female co-worker asked that.

Ok Beth that is crazy! We plan to adopt and my parents are very aware of this. I don't get asked anything of the sort. Of course, my rents already have a grandchild. At our wedding, I had a cousin and her hubby tell us that we'll be getting the "when are you gonna have a baby" question all the time now.

I really want someone to ask me when we are going to start trying. Becuase then I'll respond, "so you want to know the dirty details of our sex life?" No I won't really but I fantasies of doing it! Devil

I'm suprised we haven't gotten much of that yet. MIL I'm sure is chomping at the bit wanting a grandchild. I think she has told everyone else but us how much she wants one! I will just tell her and anyone else we have to buy a car, then a house, and then be financially stable!

Yeahhhhh. I don't worry about her coming onto him or anything, but it's like whaaaaa???? Strange lady...

A few months before the wedding DH's sister called who is and said i have great news.... Mom and Dad are moving down from philly to NC to "retire" after the wedding.... What...

We are the only ones that will have kids soon. So they put there house on the market a week ago and will be buying a house 30 minutes away.... hate to break it to them we are on the 5 year plan...

In my dad's welcome speech at the reception he told everyone he's waiting 90 days before he starts bugging me about children. I told him we just moved into a 1BR coop and are years away from having kids, but he doesn't care, starting August 23 (his bday) he will start bugging me for grandkids. He tells me that his clock is ticking.

I get this question every freaking week from both my mom and MIL. The only blessing in having MIL living so far away is that I don't have to hear it from her daily... lol. I've calmly tried to explain that we're not trying yet when anyone asks. I may bite off my mom's head sooner than later, though, if she keeps it up! Stick out tongue
