We had a good weekend!
Friday we spent the morning getting ready for our bbq, then had a good time at it. We watched fireworks and I ended up falling asleep early w/Kelsey...so I was a party pooper.
Sat- We got up at about 9 and headed over to the parade in our town....didnt get there til right when it started so we couldnt see a whole lot. It was full on steam engines and they were really loud...we didnt stay long just saw a few and left. Sat. night we went met some friends and my brother by his house in a parking lot and grilled out and watched more fireworks..then went back to his house for his annual fireworks display...that is always fun
Sunday- We slept until 10...wow! Never has Kelsey slept that late.. Then we cleaned out our garage...finally!! Then came nap time...from 1-5 we slept..haha. Then we had to take Kelsey over to Dh moms for the night so she can watch her today and tomorrow.
Re: How was your weekend?
Sounds like you had a great weekend.
Friday I got a little surprise at work and was told to leave as soon as I finished what little work there was and then go home. No one else in my office even came in. This little surprise was courtesy of the nastly virus that shut us down of two days prior to this. I was only at work two hours and it was nice to go home to my DH. We ran some errands, visited my mom at work and fixed her ac grill that we had been promising to do. We also went out to lunch, just the two of us. It has been a long time since we did that.
Saturday, I got up early (I swear I can't sleep late anymore), cleaned the kitchen and then went over to my mom's. DH had to work all day (12.5 hrs). Mom and I went and got some breakfast, and did some shopping. Mostly just errands that I needed to get done. I stayed at mom's for dinner, she made me swedish meatballs and they were yummy. I got home, emptied the car, and put everything away. By that time DH was home so we ran up to his parents house to visit everyone there. We didn't stay long because DH hates the sound of fire works (reminds him of Iraq) and we had to be up at the butt-crack of dawn Sunday for his MRI.
Sunday came and we were at the VA at 7 for DH's MRI. DH was nervous, but he managed to pull through and get it done. After he came out the tech told me we had to make an unexpected trip for an x-ray, he had found some shrapnel that we didn't know he had in his head and they want to get a visual of where it is. The x-ray went fine but the MRI tech was still worried that the MRI caused the shrapnel to shift, which is not good. Well, DH should be happy now because that means there are no more MRI's in his future as long as the shrapnel remains in his head like that. The rest of the day we spent just bumming around.
Friday was very relaxing. We slept in a bit, ran a few errands, watched some t.v. and then had a BBQ at my IL's and watched the fireworks from their backporch.
Saturday, we took a drive down to NJ to see my cousin and her family. They live right on the PA border so, we drove over to a touristy town there that was having a festival. It was such a beautiful spot, the perfect weather and ended up being a really nice way to spend the 4th.
Sunday, we cleaned the house. Our bedroom and office were kind of a disaster so, we worked hard to get them looking decent. We're having a couple of contractors come in this week and wanted the place to look presentable (we're adding ceiling junction boxes to the office and bedroom for fans, recessed lighting in the living room and having a closet built in the 2nd bedroom).
A great three days and over way too quickly!
Canon 50D, Canon 50mm f/1.4, Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8, Speedlite 430EX II
wow thats crazy about the MRI. Will they have to take them out? Sorry if that is a dumb question..
Kel, I know how you feel about not being able to sleep in anymore!
Friday I worked and got out "early" at 1:00, though I had still been there for 8hrsor so. DH and I went to lunch then ran a ton of errande - we got new phones with Sprint and were at the store for like 2hrs trying to get everything switched over and taken care of. Then, that night I passed out super early because I was so tired from work.
Sat we got up and made a yummy breakfast at home then met up with some of my friends out here. We went to the San Diego County Fair (just a glorified bunch of food and vendor booths with very few activities) and then drove down to Coronado Island where we hung out, grabbed some dinner and then watched the fireworks.
Yesterday we went to the Padres/Dodgers game (a pretty good game overall and a lovely stadium) then made dinner for a friend who drove down from LA.
Today I don't have to go into the hospital until 2:00, which is awesome and it allowed me to sleep in until like 9:30. But, I have to stay overnight which kinda sucks. Oh well, I guess that is life.
I'm glad to hear everyone had a good long weekend and have a great Monday too!
Hey Ladies - glad to hear your weekends were good! We spent the 4th out on the lake with a bunch of friends and some cold bottles of Corona and other choice beverages. It was a super day. We worked all day Sunday because of our leisure day on Saturday. Lots to do to get caught up at the farm.
Also, I did a 5 mile run over the weekend. I think I'm going to sign up for a few 5 and 10K's.... I have officially decided I REALLY want to do a half marathon. I know I will be slow.... I'm almost a 10-minute mile for anything more than a few miles, but it's something I've wanted to do for awhile. I don't know if I'll ever get to the marathon stage, but a 1/2 seems manageable. I almost feel silly because I'm NOT fast, but I know I have to start somewhere.
Kelly - I hope everything is okay with your DH!! Prayers coming your way for him.
Friday I ran a ton of errands and then took my hubby out for a belated 4 month/ belated birthday dinner.?
Saturday we went to MILs and ran some errands for her. Then we had an early dinner with DH's grandparents, aunt and mom. We celebrated both of our birthdays (his was the 1st, mine is the 14th). ?Then later at MILs we had cake before we went out to the fireworks.
Sunday we went to Church, and then to the pool at his moms where we played volleyball in the pool and even tho we applied sunscreen a few times we both got burnt a little! We had dinner at a Hibachi place with his mom and then we came home where we vegged on the couch for a little bit before we went to sleep.
great weekend, as busy as it was!?
