Wow, am I actually starting a morning post?
I started back in the vanpool this morning which means I had to get up at 4am. and I'm already exhausted. It didn't help that I woke up every 45 - 60 min last night with killer hot flashes. Blach.
Oh and the best part, I got to work and was actually at work for about an hour before I realized I was wearing two different shoes. That's what i get for dressing in the dark. I can't even go out to my car and get a matching pair (yes, I usually have at least one extra pair of shoes in my car, mostly because I used to change between work and school). Oh well, it's pretty funny. I guess I'll be spending most my day behind my desk.
How was everyone's weekend? Did everyone have a nice 4th?
Re: Monday Morning
Our weekend was pretty relaxing. Wednesday after work we went and bought Chris's, I mean "our", early anniversary present, a new 42" tv. We've been talking about getting one for a while, so we finally just decided to get it. It's pretty nice. We spen most the weekend watching it, or me watching H as he tried different settings and hookups. I think if he could have the TV would have been in bed with us.
The fourth turned out pretty good. MIL just had everyone come over to her house. FIL and SIL were out of town, which helped lower the dramatics tremendesly, so it was actually a really nice relaxing day.
Ok, I feel like I've talked a lot this morning. Someone elses turn now.
Melinda you crack me up. I'm very amused about the shoes
My mom bought a new TV yesterday and A was totally drooling over it - he can't wait to help her hook it up.
We had a really fun weekend. L loved the spa and just sat quietly and watched fireworks. I almost killed A this weekend though. He accidentally threw his wedding ring in the trash...He had this gunk on his hands and took his ring off so he could clean it off and he put his ring in his pocket - mistake #1. We looked all over for it. Then he remembered he had some trash in his pockets. So after digging through 2 trash bags, he found it. Grrrrr.
morning!
Melinda: I totally understand. Before C, our 50" was P first baby.
Robyn: You would think DL would put on a good 4th of July show.
Our weekend was really nice. We went to a local indoor play area for C. He got to meet Elmo. I don't really think he cared.
For the 4th we decided to head out for a local firework show & if C got fussy we would leave. Thankfully we avoided the crowds & found a nearby church. We parked & sat in the back (we own a matrix & the truck is more hatchback style). C aka Mr. Nosey was watching the cars go by & loved the firework show. It was so cute to see his reaction. I can't believe his vision can see that far out.
Have a great day girls. Todays the end of my 4 day weekend.
Good morning!
I'm so glad to be back home! We had a good time camping but Sarah hated sleeping in the tent. It was just way too cold for her. Thursday night she kept C up most of the night whining/crying and moving around and Friday night she kept me up until 4:30am when I finally woke C up to take over so I could get some sleep (a whole 30 minutes!). Saturday night Sarah and I slept in our friends' trailer and she was fine. Other than all that we did have good time and Sarah loved playing with the other kids (aged 2-5). She was FILTHY the entire weekend and LOVED it! We got home yesterday late afternoon and spent the evening cleaning out the car and doing laundry. I wish I'd taken today off to just sleep.
Oh! On Friday we all went to Pismo to hang out at the beach and I got a new tattoo! C took another pic of it this morning (the redness is all gone), so I'll try to PIP it. I LOVE it!
Hope everyone has a great day!
Becki~ I'm just waiting for H to lose his ring. It's just a little too big so he plays with it all the time. It's not unusual to see it flung across the room. One day I fear it will be lost forever and I'll have to divorce him. I guess it's just life's way of telling you your marriage is over. Bummer huh?
Oh, and I'm quite ammused by my shoe situation as well.
Brandy~ The best part was waking up at 3 am to find him on the couch pouting like a four year old because the game play with his XBox on the big screen from the old TV is so different he can't play nearly as well. He was so upset. I was trying not to laugh.
This weekend was really uneventful for us. Friday Dh watched R so I could do some shopping. Saturday we were home all day and didn't even go out to see fireworks. We watched movies instead. Yesterday his parents took us out to breakfast as a late anniversary celebration.
Today I just plan to do laundry.
hahahahahha well, i'm glad it's something for "both" of you.
Your shoe incident made me remember a story from elementary school. I use to get ready in the dark & back then I would wear colored socks (idk, don't judge). So I show up to school & a friend points out that I have a yellow & lime green sock on (don't judge me, I was stylin'). Anyway, instead of coming clean about dressing in the dark, I pull this elabrate story about how they were a gift, my aunt bought them from a "funky" store where everything is mismatched. omg, it was horrible. Needless to say, I never did that again & I highly doubt anyone bought my story.
You know, that's exactly what we thought as well. Disney goes all out on everything so we figured it would be that way for their fireworks but it wasn't. It was really short and the grand finale just plain sucked and wasn't really a finale at all. Their normal firework show is better than their 4th. I was bummed.
Me too!! I miss it so much
Becki - Glad your H found his ring, I almost lost mine at the beach on dad's day and so glad I found it! Worst feeling in the world!
Melinda - congrats on the new addition! H got his big screen a few years ago and is now talking about getting another one for the bedroom (rolls eyes)
Weekend was nice esp once I started feeling better. I was miserable on Thurs and once H got home I handed off doggie duty to him and went to bed. I slept until 8 pm and woke up hungry, had dinner then went back to bed. Felt better on Friday but still got tired easily. We went to Costco and I had to go sit in the car after awhile bc I felt dizzy.
Sat we went to HB for the ILs party. Got to see my parents since they came down for the party as well which was nice. Mom got to meet the new puppy and really liked him!
Sun relaxed and slept, took D to puppy training where the trainer told us she was really happy with his progress (pats self on back) and ate some leftovers MIL gave us.
That's the awesomest. You should have just continued to wear mismatched socks and started a treand!
I won't judge, I remember rockin the lime green socks that matched my lime green shirt and head band, bracelets and earings. I was theshit.
I was a dork in high school (maybe I still am, idk), I used to match my socks to my shirts/blouses.
Ooo what'd ya get?
You can't say you got a new car and then not elaborate!
Yay on the new car!! Camrys are really nice. MIL just got one not too long ago. Now you and your gals will be stylin!
afternoon!
Melinda-that is too funny about the shoes. My sister went thru a phase for about 2 years in elem when she didn't match her socks on purpose.
DH practically kissed the new tv when we got ours. Luckily we have a built in tv niche so he can't go any bigger than the niche.
Our weekend was so busy. Fri-I took Isabel to get her hair and nails done. She was so cute with blue glitter in her hair and hot pink nail polish. Than we went to IL's to do a mini celebration for Isabel's bday.
Sat we went to my parents house, bbq some hot dogs, (chicago style-thanks Robyn. DH is now hooked on the celery salt and pepperocinis) isabel played in the kiddie pool. We tried to see some fireworks from the hill by their house, but the displays were all so far away and people kept blocking Isabels view so we just left.
Sun was suppose to be our relaxing day but I had some out of town relatives visiting so we spent the day at my grandparents.
Awesome!
Awww, I bet she looked so cute!!
