Ideas for Anniversary Present
Hey,
I'm new to this board. I just realized there was a Canada board - which is great.
I will be celebrating my 1st anniversay this fall so I was trying to think of a good way to celbrate, gift for husband. Looking for suggestions or what other people have done.
Re: Ideas for Anniversary Present
We don't usually exchange gifts, but we o out to a fancy dinner on our anniversary every year. Even when we were on vacation in another province, we made sure to do it. It's a nice tradition.
Hi there! I'm also new to this board. I actually posted on another board just recently looking for ideas for my bf's birthday which is coming up soon.
What sort of things are you two into? Are you looking for something more romantic or something adventurous?
These are some of the things I looked into for my bf's birthday, maybe you can adapt them to fit for a couple's anniversary or something?
The first things I'm looking at are flying lessons, an airplane tour of Montreal, helicopter tour or sky-diving. Someone also suggested renting a fancy sports car (you could maybe add driving it to a nice location for a romantic picnic or something). These are obviously on the more adventurous side and maybe not what you are looking for in an anniversary!
One year, I made a pin-up calendar of naughty pics of myself. There's also those at-home chefs or sommeliers you can get - they come to your house, cook for you, serve you wine and clean up after themselves! Here there are also hot air balloon rides I've thought about doing. If there's a nice park or anything near you, you could look into renting a horse-drawn carriage (those are really popular in Mtl.)... Um, what else?
I think I'm actually out of ideas. This rarely happens to me, I swear. I'll probably think of something and come back to this thread.
Welcome to the board!
Our 2nd yr anniversary is tomorrow, I can't remember if we did anything for our first... I think we went away for the weekend up to the cottage together. Nothing fancy, but it was nice to spend some time together one on one.
Happy anniversary!
Traditionally, the first wedding anniversary is a "paper" anniversary.
DH got me a GC for a fabulously awesome spa out here.
I planned a babymoon trip for the two of us and typed out the plans on publisher, so he had something to open
Lots of good suggestions - thanks.
What I am trying to organize is a trip down to Boston for a long weekend. I was thinking the present could be tickets to a sports event or something.
for our 1st anniversary, we had a 2 month old baby, so it wasn't typical. my parent's took us out for dinner with my brother and his gf, and our son slept through the whole thing... it was the best gift. my bro gave us cash, as it is "paper" as a gift. DH and I haven't been the type to exchange gifts at our anniversary.
A trip to Boston sounds awesome... we did one a few months before the wedding. Love that city!
