Huston, we?ve got a heartbeat!

I?m so relieved, the tech didn?t play the heartbeat for me [boooo], but she showed me where it was pumping away! Baby waved at us too, it was so cute! The feeling is truly overwhelming; I can?t stop looking at the pics LOL   I couldn?t do the IPS because the baby was showing at 11 weeks 2 days [1 week behind]. At first she was concerned but I told her that I know for a fact I ovulated later and that?s the reason why baby looks small for age. After the measurements she confirmed that the baby is all fine and it is correct with what I said = about 1 week behind. So?I have to go again next week to do the IPS & see sweet pea again, bonus Big Smile   Question:   The tech didn?t say anything about changing my EDD. She did mention that all EDD?s are give or take 2 weeks so I should just keep the one I have but it makes me think I?m further along? Should I change my EDD?   I got 5 pics but when I tried to photocopy or scan them you can?t see the image. Any tips on how to get a clear copy?   And thank you for your good luck/wishes!!!

Re: Huston, we?ve got a heartbeat!

  • congrats!  Discuss it with your Dr about the EDD.  But I doubt it will be changed.  Just remind them at 40 wks if they are pushing to induce you that you really think you are just 39 wks.
  • Your Dr. would be the one to change your EDD. The radiologist and U/S tech give him/her the info and then they will make the decision.

When I photocopied my pics I set the copier to "picture" photocopy. It still wasn't clear though.

  • Too bad the tech wouldn't let you listen! Soon enough you'll hear it at the Dr's office anyway.

When I scanned mine I changed the colour quality by making it lighter vs darker (not sure if you have that function)... it's still not great, but good enough for the grandparents

  • Woohoo, congrats!  I'm glad everything went well.  It is such an amazing feeling, isn't it?

Your doc would be the one to change your due date not the tech.  My midwife changed mine (there was over a week difference).

  • I found a way around the U/S Pic question!

I took a picture of the U/S photo with my camera ? no flash and it?s perfect! Now I can save the real ones and keep the others out to see.

Off to Wal-Mart to print about 9 copies LOL

Grandparents, Great-grandparents, our siblings, and at home?YEESH!

  • Glad it went well Lisa! That is really cute that the baby waved at you, have fun sharing the pictures!
  • Yay!!!

You're Dr may or may not change the EDD.  Ru measured 4 days ahead, but they didn;t bother changing my EDD.  I went 8 days over my EDD anyways (12 over her measurement).
