Poll: Do you recycle?

Re: Poll: Do you recycle?

  • We recycle everything possible - even tiny scraps of paper and cardboard from packaging... lol.  Probably makes it easier because we have curbside, but I'm curious what everyone else does.

  • We have to drop it off in town, but we still collect everything that we can recycle and then make a trip about once a month with the trailer full of all the recycled materials.
  • We recycle and we don't even have curbside - but DH and I are too used to recycling to stop.  It pains me to put anything recyclable in the trash.

  • We don't have curbside paper, but we recycle that at a nearby station.  DH shreds everything (ev.ery.thing.) with either of our names and/or address on it in his shredder, so that gets recycled, too.
  • We have mandatory recycling at home for certain things like glass, plastic and newspapers.  At work we recycle paper.  I'm trying to start recycling paper at home too.
  • We have curbside, so we recycle everything we can. Our community is just coming around to recycling, so hopefully we will be able to do glass soon.

I used to live in Nashville and we had to take glass separately to a drop-off place. Here...it costs to drop off.

  • We recycle and have a compost bin.

  • We have the luxury of curbside pickup with no need to sort, so we throw everything in the bin we can.  I've heard that Chicago doesn't actually do anything different with the bin though and just puts it in the regular garbage truck.  I haven't seen it happen, so I refuse to believe.

  • We're really bad.  I was good and recycled all our cardboard boxes from gifts/moving though.  I reuse plastic bags for doggie doo. Newspapers are waiting to get dropped off to the dog shelter.  I do want to start recycling better, though.  I always feel bad when I toss a pop can or plastic bottle or glass jar.  I know I should be recycling more. • Yes everything! ; )
  • We recycle everything humanly possible!  But we do have a drop off downstairs in the apartment building so that makes it easier!  Glad to see soo many nesties recycling!
