wan

about your beco carrier- how do you like it? do you think it would still be comfortable after 4 hours of use plus walking?

Re: wan

  • i like the beco and find it as comfortable as my ergo, but i haven't actually used it for an extended length of time.  i have, however, carried the bean around in the ergo while traipsing through disneyland for several hours at a time and was fine.

    where are you going?

  • i am in between the ergo and the beco... we are going to asia- so i need something i can have her sleep on me in the airplane and walk around in the city. I also debating if i should being an umbrella stroller.

  • how old is your little one?

i would most definitely bring some kind of stroller.  babywearing is cool and all, but even i have to bust one out now and then.

  • she will be around 14 months- i hope shes not too heavy by then :P
so maybe i will also pick up the maclaren volo.

  • i'm sure she'll still be easily wearable ;)  nice stroller choice!

I obviously know nothing about strollers, but I know even rolling a suitcase or any other roller bag is usually a PITA outside of the US.  i.e. no sidewalks, crowded sidewalks, cracks/potholes, etc.  but I would still bring a stroller to have an option, I can't imagine carrying a 14 month old on a regular basis being very comfortable!

  • ok, i just read your response again- where you say the beco is as comfortable as the ergo... so would you chose the ergo over the beco?
  • ss- def going to check a stroller just in case.

my immediate answer to this is yes - but only because i have actual experience with the ergo in regards to extended periods of use.  i've only used the beco for short spurts, and it could very well be just as comfortable.  i just don't want to say so, since i haven't done it myself.  you know?

  • got it. but the beco is so much cuter!
  • aye.  but in this case, comfort > cuteness.
