new to the nest

hey, ladies!  i just got married a couple months ago so i'm more familiar with the knot but wanted to introduce myself and say hi to you all

i have a question...i'm looking for a place to host a baby shower where i can bring in my own food and drinks...any ideas?

Re: new to the nest

  • Welcome! Sorry, I don't have any suggestions on where to hold the baby shower, but I'm sure someone else around here will!
  • Welcome on over to the nest!  I don't know what part of DFW you're in but I've hosted at the FW Botanic Gardens and brought everything in.  Maybe something like that near you would be a good idea.
  • fw is perfectly fine!  it's where the expecting couple live...do the gardens have an indoor area?  i forgot to mention that it'll be cold outside when we have the shower
  • Welcome!

Don't know much about baby showers - the few I have hosted I always had at either my house or someone elses

  • The Gardens Restaurant that is located inside the FW Botanical Gardens has a room you can rent out...I'm not sure about the price though.  Here's their website - http://www.fwbg.org/restaurant.htm

Oh yes, they have rooms for different size parties depending on your needs as well.  They include a little kitchenette area with a fridge to keep your food and they provide all of the tables/chairs.  I think you get the room for 4 hours but it's been a while so I'm not positive.  I always schedule the party for 3 hours and allow 30 minutes before/after to prepare/clean up.

  • Welcome and congrats! Sorry, I'm not any help with the baby shower info. You might try the DFW bump board if you don't get very many more responses here.
  • I don't have any suggestions for the baby shower but I wanted to say HI and WELCOME!

  • Welcome Emyli! :)  Are the any tea rooms in the area?  I always thought that would be cute for a baby shower.
