Hey! Thanks. The trip was fantastic. I love it there. I'll probably post some pics on fb once I get a chance to go through all 500 or so of them!!
It was our second time in Italy and the first time around we went to a bunch of places: Rome, Florence, Venice, Sorrento, Capri, Soverato, Pompei, etc...This time around we spent most of our time with my SIL & BIL and they live 1.5hrs from Rome (close by that earthquake that took place in L'Aquila). But, we did go back to Rome for a couple of days and we did a road trip to Tuscany (Cinque Terre - fabulous scenery!). On the ride back, we made a pit stop in Pisa for about an hour. Just enough time to take some pics of the leaning tower!
The food is wonderful. Cheap wine & cheese, fresh pasta - yum! I miss it already ![]()
Btw...congrats on your BFP!!! And Happy belated anniversary
Hope you guys had a great day!
Re: Triple777
Hey Vicki! Thanks for the BFP and anniversary congrats. We had a good day yesterday, tried out a new Greek place near us we've been checking out, sooo delicious!
You are so lucky to have family in Italy! I have family in Ireland and it was so nice to have locals to show us around and the sights when I visited.
When you went the first time were you with family? Or did you do it all on your own or as part of a tour group? Sounds like you saw a lot of places! Both this time and last. The food sounds delicious too... it's making me want to not cook this pork tenderloin I have sitting out and instead go out for some Italian!
I can't wait to see some pictures when you put them up! No rush though, I know how long it can take to go through them. That's what I love/hate about digital cameras, you get SO many pictures, but then you have to deal with them all!
Ahhh...I forgot to respond - sorry. Things have been hectic this week.
The first time we went we were with family - it was when my SIL got married which brought us there. So, the first week we did the family thing and toured around. We drove (everyone) from my SIL's down to the southern Calabria region and then DH and I took off for a week on our own where we did all the other places: Florence, Venice, Rome, etc...
I like doing the travelling stuff on our own, because you get to go at your own pace and see things you want to see rather than having to stick to a schedule. If you like it enough in one spot, you can just stay an extra day!
