Poll : Dairy Queen

With summer comes the love of Dairy Queen...

What's your favorite DQ treat?

Re: Poll : Dairy Queen

  • I don't really go to DairyQueen... too expensive. But I do like a regular cone with chocolate soft serve dipped in chocolate.

  • I don't go often...usually hit ritas (especially in the summer) but when I do I love the banana split blizzard. That's my fav thing to get at brusters too bc they give you a nice salty pretzel stick with it too.
  • I'm a
    chocolate chip cookie dough blizzard
    or
    midnight truffle blizzard
    fan
  • Oh man, now I want Dairy Queen and we don't have one near us.

I love their blizzards, my favorite is probably the oreo blizzard.

  • Heath Bar blizzard

I used to work across the street from a DQ and their cheeseburgers were my guilty lunch indulgence!

  • I usually get a dish of twist with rainbow sprinkles. I know its kind of a kids treat but I love it. I do get a peanut-buster parfai sometimes (that is what DH always gets).
  • Unfortunately I don't go very often because I'm lactose intolerant, but when I do, I love the banana split blizzards!
  • OMG, you are going to torture a pregnant lady who has gestational diabetes with this poll?!?!?!  LOL!  I LOVE LOVE LOVE DQ and my DH and I usually go at least twice a week during the summer and multiple other times during the year...unfortunately I can't have ice cream with my temp. diabetes.  A peanut butter cup blizzard is FIRST on my list to eat once I have this baby!!!  : )
  • Our local DQ features the John's Special blizzard, named for/created by the owner, who is awesome.  It's vanilla ice cream blended with PB cups and the chocolate shell topping that they dip cones in (so it forms little crunchy chunks in the blizzard).  Doesn't sound all that exciting, but it is fabulous and everyone who has tried it adores it. :)

Is it sad that John's Special is one of the things I am going to miss the most about my town this upcoming year when we're an hour away? Stick out tongue

This sounds amazing.  I usually order the chocolate chip blizzard which is exactly this except without the PB cups.  I love scraping the bits of chocolate that form on the sides of the cup.  I might have to request this special the next time I got to DQ.

  • Peanut Buster Parfait, Banana Split, any choc/PB blizzard.

I've seriously been eating ice cream about twice a day, but it is my biggest craving right now!! Lesli, I can only imagine your pain!

  • Chocolate chip cookie dough blizzard - pretty much the only thing I ever get there.  We just got DQ last night!

  • Banana Split Blizzard made with twist... yummy!

Our DQ in Lancaster doesn't have food. Not that I really want fast food, but I was surprised when I moved here that not all DQ's have a food menu.

  • The DQ in Columbia still has food. It's just further up Columbia Ave. At least it did. Plus they still had the different bars and the choco. banana...unless this has changed in the past year or so.

  • tie between M&M blizzard and PB cup blizzard

those brownie earthquake things are awesome too, but I have to split them

There was a 24-hr DQ ~5-10 minutes from my college.  We used to gather a big group of friends and make a late night trips to DQ nearly every week.  It was the best.

  • Mmmm.... Dairy Queen.  The only DQ in my area happens to share a parking lot with the place I used to get my oil changed. I would walk over there while I was waiting for them to finish my car.  Now DH changes my oil, so I haven't had DQ in ages!  I used to get the brownie blizzard. Good stuff.  I'm due for an oil change now. Maybe I'll take my car in before DH has a chance to get to it so I have an excuse to get a blizzard Stick out tongue
  • Cookie Dough blizzard!!!!
  • Banana Split Blizzard! :) I also like those chocolate covered strawberry waffle bowl sundaes :) mmMMMmmmmmm sounds SOOOO good~ even at 945 am!

  • Okay, coming back into this post to whine that every time I click on this board, I see "Dairy Queen" and immediately begin craving a blizzard!

I crave DQ on a weekly basis anyway; this is just really testing my ultra-weak willpower.  We need more posts to bump this down farther and therefore out of my sight! Wink

Oh - and Becki, let me know if they *will* do a specialty blizzard styled after John's Special for you.  Friends of ours have tried to explain it/request it at other DQs in the South and have been looked at like they have three heads.  It's definitely worth it if you can convince them to make it for you though! :)

  • I must confess that this post is messing with my head too.  We don't have DQ near us but there is one at a mall in Maryland and I'm seriously thinking I need to go there just for a blizzard.
