When painting with rust paint, it's best to wear gloves. Seriously. I got some on my hands while painting a little art project, and then I got a lot on my hands while trying to clean off the brush, and it wouldn't come off at all under water ? just got really sticky.
I kind of freaked out when my hands were nearly completely covered in cream-coloured paint that wasn't coming off even a little bit. DH Googled home remedies for removing paint from skin and instructed me to rub in some petroleum jelly and then scrub with soap and water. It worked.
Phew! Lesson learned.
Re: lesson learned
Yuck. Apparently baby oil works well for oil based paints. I googled that one when my darling husband decided to clean his hands with varsol in the kitchen sink while I was cooking dinner.
It can be used to clean brushes too, so varsol is now officially banned from my house.
