Ok, so this is what, week 6 of not sleeping through the night? And each night gets harder and harder. She freaks and will not go back down. She'll fall asleep in my arms and I'll put her down in the crib, only to have her eyes pop wide open and she freaks again.
DH has tried his utmost to settle her, but if she hears or sees me, goes apesh*t.
Naps were getting shorter and shorter, and are now non-existent unless I give her some Motrin.
BUT... during the day, when occupied and entertained, is the happiest kid you've ever seen. Laughing, smiling, talking, but if she isn't occupied, she will suck her thumb and whine, and her fingers are in her mouth CONSTANTLY.
I have no idea if this is teething related or what. She has been "teething" since 2 months. We did start cereals over the last few weeks and I've noticed she's gassier, but only at night? WTFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF?
We're off to the doc's soon. I need to find out if it's ear/throat related.
Re: going insane
Sorry you're going through all this... and you're right she is the most deceiving little one.. she has me totally fooled that she is pulling this on you and Mike!
Big hugs!
My DS was like this and it was a double ear infection! He never pulled his ear or had a fever, so I had no idea. I took him to the doctor because I knew there was something wrong, but I was at my wits end.
I hope you get it resolved. Not sleeping sucks...
Oh Nat! I'm sorry this is still going on. We are having the same daytime troubles in our house.
I think you posted a while back that you were trying organic brown rice cereal with Dani. We have alternated between brown rice and regular cereal and I have definitely noticed a change in gassiness and consitpation when she has the brown rice. I am slowly trying to work it in instead of the white rice one. Do you think that may have something to do with a samll part of her fussiness? Also, we have just recently started veg and fruits. I notice on days when she doesn't get those she is more fussy. Maybe b/c she's not full enough from just formula. It could be something that Dani is experiencing.
I know how frustrating and exhausting this is. Some days I feel like a zombie!
Is Mike home with you now during the summer? Maybe having some back up will help you. I'm sure you are doing everything you can think of but sometimes just having someone to support you helps.
Hang in there Nat - and remember you're not alone. I'll be thinking of you and if S actually takes a nap I will send good nap vibes your way.
