Poll: What are you reading?
I need some book ideas for our Nicaragua trip
Re: Poll: What are you reading?
I have a post it somewhere (probably in my purse) w/a list of books I want to read. I keep saying i'm going to the library & never make it there.
Let me see if I can find it.
I didn't get back into reading until 10 months after Sarah was born. I really missed it! I finally made it a New Year's resolution (this year) and joined the Winter Book Challenge on the The Nest Book Club - it worked, I read about 10 books in 3 months! I just needed a kick in the butt to get going!
I am halfway through, "The Memory Keeper's Daughter", by Kim Edwards. So far it's really good.

I have heard the Outlander series is good as well. It's on my to read list.

Haha! If you can't stomach true crime, you won't stomach dh's writing. He writes mostly horror and some sci-fi/fantasy. He's getting his first novel published next summer!
Congrats to him!
The Sookie Stakehouse series is great, I love it! Also, Robyn, the Outlander series is one of my very favorites. I've read and re-read them about a million times, or maybe closer to like 15. I just finished "Starvation Heights" by Gregg Olsen, which actually gave me nightmares.
I love Isabelle Allende. She's awesome, and I think I've read like 5 of her books. Let me think, I know there are more
I am reading a book on In-N-Out (mostly about their business model, etc.). I am not even kidding.
(I like non-fiction.)
After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!
This explains the craving for the grilled cheese with grilled onions.
this.
That sounds really interesting.
Wow! That's awesome. Congrats to him!!
Sorry nothing right now. I read so much my last quarter I needed a break. But for some recs;
We read "Loving Sabotage" for my French class and I really enjoyed it. It's a short read, but I thought the story was really well written. It's by Amele Northbomb or something like that.
Also, I just got Pride and Prejudice for my Kindle. I'm planning on starting the Twilight series soon. If you are interested in vampire novles and want something a bit more adult I HIGHLY recommend the Anita Blake series by Laurell K. Hamilton. First book is Guilty Pleasures. Really an excellent series. The "Undead and Unwed" series is also really good, their light and funny and by MaryJanice Davidson.
Most other books I read are about 16th century England and Elizabeth I.
Oooh, I may have to add that to my list.
Ditto! Let us know when the book comes out! I like Fiction and SciFi/Fantasy.
I read Elizabeth I CEO, not too long ago, it's about how she managed the countries finances, which was a pretty big deal given that she was a women in the 16th centry (Where they believed math was too hard for the female brain). It was pretty facinating, something you'd might enjoy if you like mixing history with your business.

What to Expect the First Year
Thank you! And of course I will let you know when it comes out.
Some good recent reads...
Bel Canto by Ann Patchett
Year of Magical Thinking by Joan Didion
Me Talk Pretty One Day by David Sedaris
Right now, I'm reading The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao... it's really good! Newsweek just did an article on "what people should be reading now"... here's the link: http://www.newsweek.com/id/204300. Very interesting!
Happy reading.
I suggest
A Thousand Splendid Suns
great great book!
I haven't read anything in a while, but I'm reading this next! I love Jen Lancaster!
