I cleaned my dress...

in the bathtub. I really didn't want it preserved because honestly I want to wear it as often as possible. only the bottom was really dirty and some spots on the side from my TTD. I put some cold water in the tub with some laundry detergent and let it soak. Then i went at it with a soft toothbrush and detergent rinsed and dried. looks all clean!

So if you want to clean your dress but dread spending $100+ on it I would highly suggest trying yourself.

    You're wearing it again?

  • I'm intrigued as well. Are you going to wear it around the house?

I'm the exact opposite. I've posted it in a few different places online and I wish someone would just buy it.

  • I have a friend who got hers shortened to knee length and wears it to formal occasions.  It wasn't super fancy to begin with, but it looks great now.

Sarah, why do you want to sell it?  I love mine Smile

  • Sarah, I picture her wearing it while dusting.
  • Sarah, I love your dress!  If I had a reason to buy it, I totally would!  :)

  • yes i'm going to wear it again.  I don't care if it's just sitting at home to eat dinner off our china.  My friend said one of her friends wears hers to vacuum sometimes.  I love my dress and I just want to wear it and enjoy it.
  • I had such a small budget with my wedding, I wouldn't say that I ever had "a moment" with my dress. Sure it was nice and pretty, but it wasn't my dream dress. Being financially secure (which is difficult when both parties are full-time grad students looking to move) was more important to me. So while I liked my dress, I truly don't need it sitting around in my closet. I'm going to try to sell it for a little bit longer - if it doesn't work out, I'll donate it. That seems far more useful to me than it just hanging unused ever again.

That makes sense Smile  I was like, why sell it??  It's very pretty!
