Re: Pls rec: a home airconditioning company.
I know Frymire services ACs. Is it blowing hot air or not blowing at all? Is your DH handy at all with electrical stuff like that? The AC went out in our rental property last year, it was blowing hot air. Depending on how old your unit is (ours was only 6 years at that time) 9 times out of 10 it will be the capacitor. We had put a service call into Frymire, but DH immediately started googling our specific unit and found out it was most likely the capacitor. We called the service guy back told him not to bother because we found a place where we could get a replacement capacitor...for 16.00, I asked how much he would charge if it was that, and his fee was around 500.00 for the weekend service call and time and labor and part. DH was able to fix ours. I know time is of the essence when it's hot as heck inside your house, but if there's a chance it's the capacitor, you could save yourself some money. Just a thought, otherwise, I'd call a service like Frymire.
