I found a 10K monster mash race which is on Halloween. I know that I can definitely do that (that's what 6.5 miles or something) that's soo doable. From the website, the next half marathon isn't until march 2010. I'm sure there has to be more, I need to google it I guess. I'm excited! I can't wait to do this!!!!
Question: On days that you don't run, what do they recommend you do? like cardio exercises or just take the day off?
Re: **THOM**
Megan - My race is also on Halloween!!! (Maybe you already know that.) I hope it's not snowing, because sometimes in MN it does snow by Halloween, but I picked it because it's a reasonable length of time and it will be cool weather.
6.2 miles = 10K - you are correct. You can SO do it!
Schedules differ on what to do on days off. You could try posting on H&F for some ideas. Generally, it seems like people have their own individual preferences. On my days off it's usually just farm chores and I might do some sit-ups or ab workout. I don't belong to a gym and don't do any weight lifting, but some people do that on days off. ( I maybe should but I don't enjoy it and I don't know when I'd fit it in). Even just walking or biking is good. I don't worry about doing stuff every day though. At this point I truly run for fun, so if I really don't feel like exercise on a certain day, I just don't!
