Silence is Golden

David has been a holy terror today.  We bought a potty for him (just to get him used to the thing, not anywhere near potty training yet). Any way, he takes the little bucket thing out of it, opens the real toliet, dunks it in there, scoops out water, throw on floor.  Now he must have done this a few times because the damn toliet bowl was near empty.  I didn't realize he was doing this until he decides to bring the little bucket thing into the office and proceed to have the dog drink from it.  Did I mention this all went down in the span of like 45 seconds?

So, now the bathroom smells like toilet water.  It has since been locked up and can't get cleaned until DH gets home. I cleaned up the water but it needs a good scrubbing and David loves to help you clean and I'm not in the mood to have him around bathroom cleaners today.

Then he decides to test my patience by standing on the bass speaker and pick candles out of the holder on the near by ledge.  After telling him no three times in a row, he went to time out for a minute.  He's quiet and then I hear this banging noise.  He is hitting the back of his head against the wall.

I take him out of his play pen and he walks around a bit and then goes back to the speaker.  I tell him no three times, back into time out.  This time, however, he fell asleep.

Now back to work.

  • I'm sorry, Mel...I know it's got to be frustrating, but I'm sitting here laughing my ass off over the idea of him scooping water out of the toilet!

I know, right Val? LOL  Was he whacking his head because he was bored or what? LOL  (It doesn't sound like an all-out tantrum.)

Melanie, you have possibly the most creative child I've ever "seen" or heard of.  Some of the things he comes up with make you go "WHAT ON EARTH possessed you to come up with that??"  But I love it.  What a smart little man.

I agree with Val about the frustration...your son makes me laugh so much!
