I just got a book in the mail...
and I don't know why.
I didn't order it, I don't remember signing up for anything, I don't remember entering any contests and winning. It came shipped UPS from Harper Collins. The book is called Perfection: A Memoir by Julie Metz. The description rings some distant bell, but I don't know from where or why!

Is there a letter or packing slip or something with it? That's weird...
Make sure someone doesn't have your credit/debit card info. I started receiving ProActiv even though i've never ordered it and it turned out someone had my debit card info. But they were nice enough to send what they ordered *to* me! Don't know if i should take that as a hint...

you might have ended up on a list from the publisher b/c of a similarly categorized book you read or commented on, perhaps some word of mouth/grassroots marketing campaign.?
is there a business card from an editor or publicity/marketing??
I have discovered the source! A friend reminded me that an email was sent out by one of our friends that if we signed up for a publishers mailing list we would get a free book! AH HA!! I signed up using an email I use for junk lists, so I never check it, hence I didn't remember it at all!!
