Anyone have a Pontiac Vibe?

We're on the hunt for a new car and I *just* remembered that I would qualify for a GM family discount, so we're now thinking of GM cars (which were not on the list before).

Anyway, the top of the list right now is a Vibe. I was curious if anyone has one and what your thoughts on it are. TIA for any opinions!

Re: Anyone have a Pontiac Vibe?

  • This is pretty much the same car as the Toyota Matrix, i.e. same parts, same technology. I know owners of both who are very satisfied.

    DH just commented that he would be cautious about buying one now, though, since the Pontiac line is being killed. On the other hand, you should be able to get a great deal.

  • I know a few people who have them and really like them.

    I too would be concerned about if you would be able to get parts in the event that something needed to be fixed with the car.

  • I have the Matrix, and a couple of friends have the Vibe. I have had my Matrix for almost 6 years, and it's great. Seeing as both are the same car, even with the Pontiac line going under I'm sure the parts would be available seeing as the Matrix is still around. But, you might want to do a little more digging around on that.

    We know the line is being killed which we have been wondering about... but our assumption is that since the parts are the same as the Matrix we should still be able to get them. We would definitely verify this before we'd go ahead and make the purchase though!

    Gm also has good no shipping/freight costs right now which makes the car a good few thousand less than the Matrix so it's looking a lot more attractive than it did before!

  • My mom has the old style Vibes.. more roomie and boxie;

    She loves it... it has no real blind spots and is fairly economical on gas,
