Got amazing deals at Motherhood tonight

I just went for a bella band and got sucked in.

For summer I got:

Jean capris - $17 and two blouses - $10 and $20

They had all their old fall/winter clothes on sale and this was where I really scored.  I got:

dress pants: $15
two sweaters at $13 each
a sweater for $5
a fantastic purple 3/4 sleeve, crossover dress for $15

After feeling sick about the price of maternity clothes over the past few weeks, there was no way I could pass up these deals.  All the fall stuff is quite big right now, but I'm sure it will fit just fine when the time comes.

  • Score! I'm a sucker for sales too. Someday you should post a picture of you with your awesome bump modelling the fantastic purple dress. :)

  • Sounds like some great deals! I will have to stop by this weekend at one of their stores and see if I can find anything for myself. My regular clothes are getting mighty tight these days!

Thanks for the heads up Amy Smile

  • Did you go to the one at Heartland? The one at Dixie Mall is really good. I was telling Sarah that I got all my work pants and jeans there. I remember the staff being really pushy and asking all sorts of private questions really loudly. One being - "Are your panties getting tight around the crotch?"

Anyway, it was always worth the drive there. Check it out if you haven't.

I'm glad you got some nice stuff - gotta show off that bump, girl!

OMG - that's hilarious!  I went to the one at Trinity.  Is the Dixie one a true outlet?  (I find so many of the stores at Dixie really aren't).  I'll definitely have to try it.  The two girls working were teens - 20 max, so they really weren't into it, which was A okay with me.  I hate pushy salespeople.

I'm wearing my belly band today and love it.  I now have 5 pairs of pants/capris that I can wear that didn't fit me anymore without it.

  • score! How long is a bella band supposed to last for? How much do they cost? (just curious :P
  • great deals! Maybe we can make the drive to Dixie and Heartland together once I'm home from the cottage!

Andrea - I'm still using my bella band for a few pairs of pants and it's good post baby too so you get alot of wear out of it (I find at least)... I think it was $20-$25?

Sounds like a plan.  I was just looking at the website and it looks like they have the $15 dress pants in two different colours for 9.99 and 11.99, so I might order them.  They're the full panel with LOTS of room in the panel and the hips are still roomy too, so I think they'll be able to get me through fall.

And two of the sweaters I bought are online for $60 - yowzas!

  • Ohhhh...so some of the sales are only in store??  If the washing machine guys get here in time, then I may make a run.  I'm pretty set for pants, but I sure could use some t-shirts!!  Thanks for this post!
  • FYI ? Dixie isn?t Motherhood, its Thyme. That doesn?t make a difference to me but just in case you prefer one to the other.

I went to the Dixie Outlet Mall last Sunday and yes there are the ?NEW? things at the front which are regular price but at the back I found great deals. I only needed tops (thanks to hand-me-downs ? I have 6 pairs of pants, 3 jeans, 2 capris, 2 shorts + 3 dresses)

    I got 5 tops for $58

Two were for 14.99, two for 6.99 and one for 8.99

Mind you I think almost everything Maternity is ugly but what can you do!?!

Also I stopped at Smart Set and I got 3 tank tops, regular ribbed ones 3 for $10. I just got size large?there were mostly larger sizes anyways and they had a lot of nice flow-y or long tops that can work for us too.

I didn?t get to see the whole mall but I?m sure I would have found more deals?.I was rushed thanks to DH [I need to go back soon]

I guess so.  I found it odd that in store the sweater was $5 and online it was $60, but I guess the store has limited space and needs it cleared out.   Good luck!

  • Not trying to be a brag...

I was lucky with the hand-me-downs. My aunt when she got pregnant for the first time 8 years ago also had 4 girlfriends pregnant at the same time, they would rotate the clothing or borrow certain items all the time. Then they started saving their maternity clothes, over the years more has been added and some U.G.L.Y. things have been thrown out. Well after a total of 12 pregnancies I must admit the clothes look like new!

Now my only problem was that 85% of these ladies were pregnant starting in July/August so I have a LOT of winter items and had 3 pieces of summer ? no tops. So I needed to shop but then there is the dilemma we all go through...How much for only maybe if you?re lucky 6 months of usage???

I think that it?s a great system they had. Don?t throw out your clothes [unless you know for sure you?re not having any more kiddies] even still ? I?d give them to someone I know or even Good Will. I have 3 close ladies that all in the next 2/3 years will get pregnant; I can manage a space in the storage closet and save these for them. I can imagine how hard it is to start from scratch!

I was wondering - I?ve heard of clothing swap meets ? Have any of you heard of ones in the GTA for Maternity clothing?
