One thing I noticed about the knot/bump/nest is that even if you have it turned off so you do not accept "cookies" it still downloads a lot of pics to your temp files (and not the one's that you delete by going to internet options - delete temp internet files or delete cookies). I deleted over 20,000 pics off of my computer (dated for the last 2 months) recently that the nest/knot had dumped onto my computer. Everything from tickers to siggy pics to links. Brutal.
Please forgive my computer ignorance. But how would I know if all those files are on my computer. Where would they be? I am lost after deleting temp files and cookies. How would I find and get rid of these files? My computer has been SUPER slow and the last time I did a virus check it said there were over 600,000 files on my computer. I don't download much and pretty much only use my computer for surfing, email, facebook, nest and photos. I do have a few thousand photos, but not that many! Maybe the Nest is part of my problem.

There are a few ways.
1. Open Internet Explorer and go to Tools - Internet Options. Here you will be able to 'delete cookies' and 'delete temporary internet files'.
2. C drive - Program Files - Windows - Temp
Also - I don't have the same set up on my home computer as I do on my work laptop but on that one I went to the C drive and then went through each folder. I found one called Temporary Internet Files and one called Cookies. These were for some reason not emptied out when I had done #1. This is where I found the 20,000 pics related to the nest.
Edit - Run a search for folders name 'Cookies' and 'Temporary Internet Files'. That can help you locate them as well.
Also check your recycle bin. You may have a lot of files in there. If you find anything doing #2 or #3 it will go into your recycle bin.
Photos can take up a lot of space so that could be causing your computer to run slower. We have a whole separate drive for photos which helps but also I save them to an external harddrive and then delete them off of our computer once in awhile. I find that helps.
