tips on getting smarter in no time?
So I've been studying my little butt off for my big exam on Wednesday and for the past 2 days every time I take the test I get around the same mark.
The mark is enough to pass (at least that is what people assume since no one know the official passing grade) but I think I'm too close for comfort and need to somehow gain around 10% (to be on the safe side).
I've been doing lots of reading/memorizing but am worried I've hit the wall. the practice exam I did today took over 3 hours (it was 200 questions) so it's pretty time consuming.
any suggstions would be most appreciated thanks!!
Re: tips on getting smarter in no time?
Here are some tips that I always give my students.
1- Study right before bed. More is committed to memory if you sleep on it. 2- Study in a place that will most resemble where you take your test. And don't eat or drink while you study, because you can't do that during a test.
3- Don't study what you already know. I recommend condensing your notes and only write down what you're not sure of. Then you'll have a quick reference page of stuff you need to bone up on.
4- Don't overstudy. If you've had enough, don't push it. It sounds like you have been doing a lot of work, so take some time off and don't think about the test for a while. You will be surprised what you remember when you're in that test situation.
Hope this helps!! Good luck!!!
studies show that attachment learning is the best and sure fire way of remembering.
You have to "attach" the new fact to something you already know. So when I study, I write a jot of the new fact, and below it, write another fact I already know that relates to that. It's a way of mind-mapping and it is proven that the knowledge becomes permanent.
As far as supplements go, fish oils/DHA/EHA are awesome for the brain, as is gingko biloba
Most of all, get LOTS of sleep. Your brain functions at a slower pace when not well rested. Sounds obvious but a lot of us abuse this.
