I'm getting furloughed and a pay cut =(
It's official - we'll be having furloughs and a 10% pay cut here at my work. ?It blows, but I'm just thankful they are not laying off or that the pay cut is not more than 10%.
Re: I'm getting furloughed and a pay cut =(
It may sound stupid but, at least it happened after your trip.
I hope they don't make any more changes.
Noush - I think your dad and I work for the same State of California entity. ?From what I'm gathering, they are just waiting for the CFA (CA Faculty Assoc.) to vote, but it looks like it's going to be the same deal =(?
Right now the contract is for this to be for a year ONLY, but by the looks of things, I think it'll be longer than that.
Dang, it sucks to live in CA!?
For reals!?
Thanks for the update, I'm afraid to ask him since he gets so worked up about it. Not that I blame him but with all the health problems my dad has we like to keep him calm as much as possible =/ Right now hes still extremely ticked off that they canceled the majority of the summer session classes and his students are being held back from graduation because of it.
I'd be pretty ticked off too! ?The students were the first ones that I thought off when I heard about the summer session at the university that he's at. ?
i know it's no consolation to your dad, but since he had the pay increase recently, then the pay cut will pretty much put him back to to what he was making prior to the raise... ok not quite the same, but you know what I mean.?
We just have to hang in there and let it ride out. ?I'm crossing my fingers they will not have to resort to issuing IOUs like they did many moons ago for CSU employees!?
That really sucks!
I am just so disappointed in California right now. The whole budget thing is just sa.d
True about the pay raise/pay cut I think hes just worried about my sister's tuition since she started college after the pay raise so they've bugeted making the monthly payments on her tuition based on that amount. Buut mostly hes just ticked off that ultimately the students are the ones who suffer throughout this all.
Hopefully they dont resort to IOUs!!
A job is nice, but getting paid less and doing the same ammount of work... sucks!
SORRY!
