Ok, so I made that up...it's the Spanglish (spanish/english) name for Mr. Goodbar....Which USED to be my favorite chocolate candy from Hershey's. Until yesterday - when I saw that their Miniatures bag of chocalotes that I got over the weekend was MADE IN MEXICO. I had heard that they were moving production of Peppermint Patties to Mexico, which made me sad, because I liked them too.
Something about Hershey's Chocolate being made in Mexico just doesn't sit right with me...One of my questions is - where do their get their water for the plant? You're not supposed to drink the water when you travel there, so are they importing it...or filtering it?
My one co-worker joked that she thought the Dark Chocolate mini she had from my bag tasted spicy ![]()
Re: Senor Buenobarra
Let me know if she does and what they say.
She did get a response, but you could tell it was a "cookie-cutter" automated answer...definitely fluffing their good qualities (the Milton Hershey School, etc) and skimming over the bad stuff. It basically said they are moving up to 90% of their products out of the US (to either Mexico or Canada) And, that they are making the Milk Chocolate Bars, Kisses and Peanut Butter cups in Hershey, but that's about it.
I think I'm more mad now, after reading their email response...
Sounds like Hershey is no longer the sweetest place on Earth. Actually, it's starting to sound pretty bitter, and with good reason.
I remember going to the Twizzler factory on a field trip while in high school. Everyone got a bag of Twizzlers right off the assembly line, and then came home with a stomachache from eating them all! They were soooo good!
Good way to put it...
