I uploaded my pics from our trip to photobucket- I didn't edit anything or delete anything.
There is one picture of a lady w/ a thong on. Uhm yeah, a thong. It was bizarre. I can't ever remember going to a public beach like that and seeing someone in a thong. Uhm and the weirdest part is that she had to young boys w/ her. They were probably btwn 6-9. The area we were in is very popular for sharks teeth. They are everywhere. So this lady was looking for shark teeth and she kept bending over right in front of her kids- i mean @$$ in face big time. It was hilarious. It was one of those things you cant stop looking at and you dont' know why. DH & I were sitting on the boat cracking up. Every time she'd bend over i'd cover my face and laugh. There was a boat that had 3 guys anchored next to us and they were cracking up. It was just crazy. FINALLY a park ranger guy came over and told her she had to put something on bcuz when we were leaving we saw her getting off her boat w/ a skirt on..
We had a really good trip. It was very un-restful. We stayed up all night 4 out of 6 nights. We fished all night-- okay well I didn't fish all night but DH & his friend, and his cousin stayed up all night fishing. My friend & I took our beach chairs and we slept in our chairs. We had it down to a science by Thursday night. We knew just what to take to be as comfortable as possible on a mosquito infested beach. Oh the mosquitos were super bad!
We went with a married couple that we are friends with. This was our first trip with anyone other then family. Honestly, it was difficult and I don't know that I would do it again. DH didn't seem to think anything of it, but for me it was hard. I am not by nature a people person and i'm not naturally cheery and whatever. I found it really hard to be around someone other then DH 24/7! The wife we went with is super cool, and we hang out alot but her husband is a piece of work. He is high-maintenance, in the way that if he doesn't get his way he gets pissed and starts yelling. So the whole week I felt like we had to do what he wanted to do. ....& we only took one vehicle. His truck, which is a jacked to the moon f-something -the tag on it says 550, but i think its either a 250 or 350. So he didn't really want us driving everywhere but what choice did we have bc that was the only car we had. Next time (if there is a next time) i'll def be taking my own car. I can't STAND to sit around. It's fine for an hour or two but after that i get ADD and i'm ready to do something.
Oh, and our hotel. OMG. it needs to be updated for sure! We could have rented a house for what we paid for the hotel. Oh well.
This turned out pretty long- sorry.
Over all it was a good week. Dh & I had a good time doing what we love to do.

Megan, -- DH wanted to try that kayak fishing- i think it would be awfully hard. We have a lil jon boat that we have all set up-
We didnt catch a single stinkin' redfish! That was the only thing I wanted to catch. We only saw one, and he was in a school of snook. =(
My dad does the kayak fishing, he has yet to catch any keepers but he loves doing it. It's his man time. DH wants me to get my own kayak (I of course want a pink one with a pink rod and reel and pink life jacket, I mean us girls ahve to girly while doing boy things right?) and have it be one our things we do. I'd love to get one but man they are expensive!! He sold a bunch of his WWII collection in order to get it and the rack for his car.
What kind of bait do you use? lures? We've fished with shrimp and squid, my dad wants to try croker (sp) next. he had some friends catch a crap load of redfish with croker

bkenan, what kind of pink rod and reel do you have?? is it a bait/cast reel? DH wants me to get one of those, but I've never fished with that type before.
Alligator gars are soooo freakishly scary looking to me!!!! When we went night fishing they were just tearing up the waters chasing the crokers and hard heads around!!! It's crazy!!
it is a bait cast reel. We bought the whole thing from wal mart...but Dh upgraded the reel. I will look for a pic to show you.
One day when dh was fishing off the jon boat, I was laying on my brother tube attached to the job boat and dh didnt tell me he was going to move so I wasnt ready...needless to say I came off the tub in about 3 ft of water surrounded by alligator gar. I thought I was going to pee my pants. They kept coming at my legs...omg so freaking scary!

They have this pink rod and reel at academy, it's not a bait cast, it's one of the other ones (im having a brain fart and cant remember the type) and the reel lights up when you reel it!! haha i wanted it but DH was like umm no
Well when he took off the tube went with him...and he finally heard me screaming and came back but the little boat only goes so fast...It was awful. When he got back around to me I got inot the boat.

Megan, uhm im not sure about gator gars, i'm going to say yes, DH caught a gar the last time he went bass fishing. We dont fish fresh water very often. Uhm hello I totally have a hot pink rod!!! i havent found a good pink reel yet! most of the pink reels are cheap and wouldn't stand up against salt water fishing!
DH fishes w/ artificials. i hate artificials. I fish them occasionaly but for the most part i fish live bait. we use whatever we catch in the cast net. we use alot of green backs, pinfish & sometimes grunts.

bkenan, yours is a spinner reel... i have a bait caster, the link i put should show you a pic of it. if not. google abu garcia black max ...that is the bait caster I have.
i got my pink rod at Bass Pro Shop. I'll look and see who the maker is when I get home.
opps sorry! Dh has a few of the bait casters..i just looked. I guess he didnt trust me w. that kind yet.
We never fish salt water unless we are in FL or something so I am no help there.
I prefer my baitcaster to my spinner reel---until i backlash the crap out it, or if its windy, then I can't do a dang thing w/ it.
