Ricki's new maternity line
I just found out Ricki's has introduced a maternity line. I was psyched until I checked out the store listings. There isn't one single store carrying the mat line in the entire GTA region, from Hamilton to Oshawa. The closest is Waterloo.
WTH Ricki's?? The GTA has the most dense population of any region in Canada and you can't give us one freaking store??

there aren't even very many Ricki's stores. The closest one to me is "Cloverdale mall" - a mall that no one has heard of at 427 and queensway. Yorkdale and Vaughan Mills doesn't even have one. I love Ricki's because they have LONG PANTS!
I work near the Cloverdale and run to that Ricki's on lunch sometimes. They don't carry it though. There's one in Brampton too, but I hate going to that mall. Cloverdale is easier because 90% of it's occupants are seniors out for a mall walk, not annoying teens that a running you over.
LOL so true! I need to get there one day after work... I'm in desperate need of some clothes.

There's a Ricki's really close to my place - did they list Brantford as one of the stores carrying mat clothes? This way you have an excuse to come and visit me....
I'm surprised the new big one near Sherway doesn't carry it. I swear I saw maternity stuff when I was there, though I can't be sure since I wasn't looking for it of course.
I now go to that one instead of the Cloverdale one because they have so much more stuff.
Seriously Waterloo.... Waterloo is known for its universities...Why there.. are they expecting student to want to buy there clothes?
I just checked the website, and the expecting line is at Pickering Town Centre!

Ummm what? Maybe like 10 years ago that was all it was known for. Now it is the silicon valley of the north.
I saw this right after I found out I was pregnant and I was super excited, until I realized that all the stores were so far away! My guess is that they are purposely avoiding the GTA and using smaller locations as it's a new line and they want to test it out before bringing it to a bigger market. That or they are just silly and don't want to make any money off the GTA prego crowd.
That is great news they are carrying the line at the Pickering location Ash. I will have to make a stop there next time I am visiting my parents!
I love Ricki's and feel like their mat line will be way funner than the boringness I've seen at Thyme and Motherhood.

Funny - we were just talking about parts of Toronto being the Silicone Valley of the North.
Met my girlfriend for lunch near her work (not porn-related, BTW) around Jameison, not far north of the Gardiner and she mentioned that the warehouses in the area are filling up with porn production and distribution.
Calgary only has one. And it is on the complete opposite side of the city from where I live and work. One???
And Saskatoon has 2. That are 15 min apart.

They have one here and to be completely honest you really aren't missing out on much, I haven't been uber impressed with their selection or their pants styles. I really wish there was a Gap Maternity in Edmonton, but I think the closest location is Calgary!
